Dagobert666 Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 I mean that the autopilot automatically keeps the helicopter on: a point, altitude and orientation. Is that already implemented? Will that come? Or does the AH64D not have that? I'm surprised that this isn't mentioned anywhere. As far as I know the Longbow has something like that. -In the "Janes Lombow1-2" simulators the Apache has something like that. -Even the comparatively ancient HIND has an auto-hover. -The AH64-D is a state-of-the-art helicopter. Planned in the 80s and put into service in the early 2000s. It must have installed something like that. Don't get me wrong, please. If Apache doesn't have something like that, then I don't demand that he gets something like that either. It just surprises me. I expected a highly modern autopilot system in Apache.
Solution Bunny Clark Posted March 20, 2022 Solution Posted March 20, 2022 It is something the Apache can do, it's a sub-function of the attitude hold function on the Force Trim Switch. But it is not implemented yet. 6 4 Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. Bunny's: Form-Fillable Controller Layout PDFs | HOTAS Kneeboards | Checklist Kneeboards
agamemnon_b5 Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 ALT hold isn't implemented yet. That's coming later in early access. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
CybrSlydr Posted March 20, 2022 Posted March 20, 2022 For now, my auto-hover is switching to the CP/G and telling George a specific altitude at 0kts. lol 5

ED Team Wags Posted March 21, 2022 ED Team Posted March 21, 2022 Attitude / Position mode will come later, but only when you are between 0 and 4 knots. So, you will still need to get yourself into a stable hover first. It will not be a magical button you press to miraculously put the -64 into a hover. Kind regards, Matt 8 2 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544

Kind regards, Matt I'm guessing that this will require the same sort of activation conditions as the hover mode in the Gazelle then. Edited March 21, 2022 by frostycab 1

Frederf Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 Just like Ka-50: "Don't call it auto hover. Call it hover hold." It won't produce a hover from not a hover, but it will keep one you achieved. 4
