correct as is Auto - range problem (after the last OB patch)

Hi,

I noticed the problem after the last OB patch with Auto Range option (mostly I start from cold and dark situation). It dosent work, or it starts to work with big delay. I did the same like before I installed the patch, WPN, MAN Range, on KU = A, Enter and I see on IHADSS „M1.5” still. 

Does we have something new with procedures or its an issue. I need Auto option necessarily again !!!

Thx however I know how to use it so it wasnt this problem. Good news - Today it was ok, so maybe DCS runs last time for me with any strange issue. 

I checked cold start, hot start and "A" works again. Also, I didnt notice here any others posts of users, so its not global issue, just local, disposable problem ;).

About what You wrote as second - I agree, this is strange, every time it back to default M1.5. I did script for my TH Warthog (in TARGET) and I do Auto mode on one click of button (but yes - every time).

Auto ranging uses the radar altimeter, so make sure your RDR ALT is on before setting auto range.

RDR ALT now is on from the beginning after the latest update, from C&D and hot start, but you have right, its good idea to check it too, thx.

Btw. Todys mission the same .... hmmm it doesnt work. I think its a something like strange combination of behavior of Pilot / George which disables this function. It's probably some specific situation and combination. What is strange near the end of mission it started to work. Its a big track (the whole mission, I tryied to use it from close of WP02 few time to the end, so you can fast forward).

What was your altitude when trying to set Auto mode?

Dont know exactly, alt radar shows data to 1,500 I think (on IHADSS), I was over this but not more than 3.3k ft AGL.

If you don't have radalt readout on your IHADSS that means you are too high for auto ranging to work. It needs altitude to be able to calculate distance from angles you give to the system.

as far as I am aware it is correct as is, I would give the advice above a go and see how you get on.

Ok. Its Correct as Is.

1400 AGL is an barrier, so if dont see RDR ALT on FLT page or on IHADSS you cant use "Auto range" option. Thx JSpidey and admiki.

No problem. TBH, this has been mentioned at least a dozen times, few times by myself, realy not sure how you missed it.
