reported New bug, we can't manually command Petrovitch AI to fire ATGMs!

When fly solo, we can't manually command Petrovitch AI to fire ATGMs. When pressing the "Designate target OR Open fire command to gunner" button, Petrovitch only re-searches that area and re-list all available targets and DO NOT fire ATGMs. this issue came with the last OB patch.

Choose the target, then turn OFF the Pet menu then pull the trigger.

Yes it's different and sucky but it works.

You don't need to turn Petro off to fire yourself

TIL you could even use the “designate target” command to fire instead of using the pilots weapon release which still works. Very interesting how so many people can watch or do or read the same tutorials and come out thinking one specific method is the “intended” method. 
 

i didn’t even know you could use the “designate target” command to fire, I only used the pilots weapon release, and thought everyone else just used free fire

Contrary to you, I didn't even know the pilot's weapon release could actually command AI to fire, I only used the "Designate target OR Open fire command to gunner" button.

I think if this is not a bug, and ED has indeed changed the AI logic, ED should better tell us in the changelog, and delete the "OR Open fire" in the description of that button,  because it really made some MI-24 pilots confused.

It wont shoot, petro menu wont pop up, "resloting" didnt help and what am I supposed to do? (first time manual startup, second time win+home)

Am i missing something?

It looks like you broke the gyros. Although Petrovich will lock the sight if needed, sometimes you can catch him off guard with jinking around.

I don't think this is the same issue. Maybe you mean they have the same solution, fix Petrovitch AI?

Yeah my problem is completly different, i dont have problems with firing atgms cuz petro menu WON'T APPEAR so i cant choose targets (+ crosshair desync) on some MP SERVERS,

So my problem is more compilcated and probably related to mission settings / aircraft settings.

In your video menu appears just fine, just boxes are absent. That is mission setting and some of us like it like that, avoids clutter.

Try again on same server and see if crosshair is crazy. Like I said, this looks like broken gyros to me

Target list will only appear if Petrovich can actually see targets (which in itself is still WIP).

Nope, something is wrong, it wont detect enemy units so still i cant use atgms (and again it happens only when i play engima cold war server)

+1 Petro cant recognize targets and doesnt shoot ATGM in online, at offline all works. The 2 latest patches realy bad in all aspects IMHO, except for the addition of F1, but last patch broke them too.

can you let me know if this is the Enigma server? 
If so we are looking into it, other servers seem ok.

Happening to me on Enigma's server.

I'll see if I can test it more but it looks like I can target Aerial targets fine and then shortly after ground targeting will work...then stop working.  If I don't have any aerial targets to target the targeting menu will not appear at all for ground units.

Anyone else notice this?

Just tested, I can only target aircraft/helicopters reliably (even when on ground) but no ground units.

Not sure what causes Petrovich to sometimes give a list of ground units or not, but it will work and then not work while on the same flight.

I can't get the petrovich target list to appear in the guided missile training mission. Following instruction, putting the sight on the target and telling him to search.. nothing happens except the missile tone
