mobua Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 (edited) When switching the speed to display GND speed I noticed that the JHMCS display only shows CAS and is not repeating the ground speed indication shown on the HUD. Can someone confirm this behavior? Is it correct or is it a bug? Thanks! Edit: I would like to add, I noticed the issue while taxing on the ground. The HUD was showing the ground speed while DJ hammocks was set at 48 kn suggesting that it was displaying the CAS speed. Edited August 28, 2022 by mobua 1
skywalker22 Posted August 28, 2022 Posted August 28, 2022 Indeed always shows 48 knots what's bellow that number. Above it works correct. This is a bug. 2

Well it seems like the powers that be marked it as correct. I find the logic odd but I have nothing to refute the current functionality. It’s just that I always thought the JHMCS was a repeater of the HUD information. 1

Don't get it why there would be speed between 0 and 48, on JHMCS always a number 48? While on HUD is showing speed as it should. This really doesn't make any sense, sorry. Zero (0) would make, but not 48. Edited August 28, 2022 by skywalker22 2

Absolutely could make sense: the 48 is the default/bottom end pitot registered speed. Pitot doesn't stop working just because you've got the HUD displaying information from a different source. If the JHMCS is using the pitot number and not influenced by the switch to change what data is displayed on the HUD of course it's going to show 48 (the same as the HUD does if you're displaying CAS during taxi). 3
