Ahogephilia Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 Why don't you do anything? This is not community mod. It's on sale paid product. I don't know what's difference between this dlc and "the disaster" hawk dlc. 1
Tom Kazansky Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 I feel you pain so I searched for a difference and I found out that since the end of 2020 combined arms has updates in almost every single stable DCS changelog. The Hawk obviously has none. That might not be enough for some/most, but CA is not dead. 2

I don't know what's difference between this dlc and "the disaster" hawk dlc. Keep in mind that DCS is, at present first and foremost, a FLIGHT simulator. The ability to interact with ground (and I think sea, never actually tried that one yet - and I have Supercarrier) vehicles is more of a novel addition (though it can be quite interesting) and is basically an "FC3 equivalent" level of simulation (i.e. it's more 'gamified'). They more often than not add or tweak CA content (case and point, the new "not Landcruiser" and "not Hilux" technicals added just after the AH-64 was added), and we have some other vehicles (such as a CRAM and - I think I recall seeing - a Pantsir) incoming. These things, like improving the legacy aircraft models, takes time. However, your initial post is quite vague. What do you want them to do? Why do you want them to do it? 1

You are right, the thing is that they are charging for this DLC. I know that DCS is mainly a flight simulator (and I love it), but the moment they charge for it they are “officially” supporting ground combat. In my opinion, this module lacks instant missions and good tutorials to help you learn to command different units. Of course I would like more units available and even sea combat being improved, but I’m think it is more important to have the ground combat in a good state and then expand it (naval combat could be its own module tbh). I just hope they keep updating it. I know the haven’t forget about it, so I have hope they will make a good patch sometime soon. But in the meanwhile, I think that instant action and better tutorials have the priority. 2

Oh, Hawk was supposed to be full fidelity aircraft module and CA is simple vehicle control sim and commander role RTS game. Did they promise you anything else to base your refund on? CA was a Military UK Army JTAC trainer as the ANG A-10C trainer, aproved to public release and update with some funtionality. That never was a realistic tank simulator product and never was planned convert into them. DCS has none od the necesary funtionality to build a hardcore vehicle module. The "Disaster" Hawk DLC was a module release by a Dead 3rd party with no give the sources to ED to continue geting suport the product.
