reported Radar GM - no ground returns on Persian Gulf

Problem:

In 2.8 I get no ground returns from the Radar in GM Mode. All I see are points and lines on a black background. I tested in Persian Gulf and The Channel maps.

I verified gain and brightness settings and could not improve it. I tested different weapon loadouts and weapon mode in VIS and PRE, also TGP in Stby. Always the same result.

Expected behaviour:

I expect to see returns from ground, especially mountains. I compared this with the Wags Video on GM Mode and I should see the relief like returns from mountains.

Works fine for me, got pictures or a track we can look at?

Also, verify your radar antenna elevation isn't pointing straight up.

Here comes a screenshot. These are the mountains near Fujairah at PG. The radar stays black except lines from roads.

You see also my ground weapons settings. I also tried different antenna elevations, but it did not help.

Surprisingly at Caucasus the radar works fine. Maybe this error is somehow related to the new shaders at PG?

Please include a track replay, is your gain setting to low maybe?

The gain control does not help. I tried my best with gain, brightness, contrast and antenna elevation. I try to post a trk file later with the latest patch.

Are you running any mods, by any chance? Shader, terrain or custom scripts? Any unit mods (that add custom units/objects) in the Saved Games folder?

If so, try without them. I had a similar problem some time ago, with the Hornet's radar, and it was caused by such a mod.

@BIGNEWYHere is a trk file. I have todays open beta patch and also the latest Nvidia Studio driver installed. The problem is still the same.

I think this issue is related to what version the mission was created in. Trying any of the instant action missions results in ground not being visible on GM radar, only road/buildings. Gain rocker does not affect terrain visibility on old missions.

I'm not sure how to do a track file but when I bring up the Air to Ground radar on the Persion Gulf map I get a black back ground that only shows cities and towns as radar returns, the actual terrain is not showing up as a return, and I am very familiar with adjusting the Gain, Contrast, and Brightness so those things are not the issue as I have over 550 hours in the viper so I'm very versed in the F-16 I would have to say this is definitely a bug.. .

Hi, 

please include a track replay showing the issue you are seeing we will be able to take a look then. 

You can save a track replay when you exit a mission during the debrief window. 

If possible make it as short as possible to show the issue, and air start mission would be best and no user mods.

Does this look right? The screen doesn't show anything. I would think you could see an image of the island and runway etc.
