Flappie Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 @draconus Can you please attach your dxdiag log? Are you guys using some shader utility (e.g. RsShade)? ---

Flappie Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Thank you. Your two PCs have little in common, apart from the fact that you both use Oculus devices. But since you said you were also seeing this in 2D, I assume this can't be caused by Oculus devices. I'm at a loss, here. 1 ---

Flappie Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Here's what it looks like on my end. At the time I'm writing this, the 4K quality video is still being processed, but as you can see already, I'm still unable to reproduce the stripes effect. https://youtu.be/W7CZEnlT0hI ---
Dunska Posted June 19, 2023 Posted June 19, 2023 A friend and I both get these stripes - only on the PG map. We have different machines and VR headsets (he's on Intel CPU, 3090, Varjo Aero, I'm on AMD CPU, 4090, Pico 4). 1
equinox137 Posted March 21 Posted March 21 What are the lines in the water outside the canopy about in this screen capture and what can i do to fix it? Thanks
Daemoc Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Are you using an AMD GPU and do you have MSAA enabled by chance? Ryzen7 5800X3D - MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk MAX - 64Gb 3600MHz DDR4 - RX 6950 XT - SoundBlaster -Z
Flappie Posted March 21 Posted March 21 @equinox137 Is that Persian Gulf? If so, it could be this issue: So far, I'm unable to reproduce it. Please share a short DCS track along with your options.lua (from Saved Games/DCS/Config). ---

Daemoc Posted March 26 Posted March 26 The reason I mentioned that is I had the same issue with DCS and the Godot game engine a while back. I would get those same lines in both if I had enabled MSAA via the game or AMD Adrenalin. Godot has had a few updates since then, and DCS just flatout does not work with MSAA anymore using AMD. I don't know if that is a result of a DCS update or the newer AMD drivers. I suspect it was a driver change. I am half tempted to roll back to an older driver and see if I can reproduce it again. smik Posted March 27 Posted March 27 (edited) I have it too. I don't know if it will be visible well. Syria, instant mission, free flight, F18/C GPU AMD 9070XT. There are no artifacts on the LOW graphics preset. Today I will try to find out in what settings it is displayed. In this situation the artifacts only appear on the coast (orange color) It is also visible in the external view Edited March 27 by smik 1
smik Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) I also tried the GPU 5070Ti and with this card the stripes on the screen are not there. The problem probably only affects AMD cards. The stripes are on every map near the coast. At least for me. Edited March 29 by smik 1

I'm sure I wasn't going crazy: Roughly on the same spot you took that Hornet shot. F/A-18C Hornet Instant Action, Free Flight,Syria. F-16C Viper Instant Action, Free Flight, Persian Gulf. Nvidia, DLAA on. It seems to occur on the intersection of the Clouds shadows and the coastal shader/effect thing that makes up the shallow waters appearance. I've been seeing this for years now, doesn't matter the aircraft. 3 2
smik Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Sorry. It's really strange. I never had this until now with a new PC. Where I used an RX9070XT. When I changed the GPU to a 5070Ti, the stripes were gone, but the image still looked weird. I went back to the 9070XT and the stripes are back. I used an RTX 4070 in my old PC and had no problems

Yes I tested on the same scenarios I'm using MSAA 4x but it still looks really jagged (shadows, cockpit and external view). It seems like the antialiasing isn't working properly, everything is shimmering and there are moirés. I don't know if it's just me but it seems like it looked better on my old PC. Maybe I just don't remember how it looked before. But it looked like this with the 5070Ti too, the stripes just disappeared

If you end up testing with that GPU again, try DLAA? cheers 1

Flappie Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) Thank you. My GPU is not able to do DLAA. I've just asked my fellow testers to try and reproduce the artifact. EDIT: none has reproduced the issue so far. Edited March 31 by Flappie ---
