Persian Gulf Development Progress

We continue to work on real time lighting technology. In the next update you can expect to see the new lighting for several ports of Dubai. Some oil tankers and rural houses have also had their lighting updated. We are now working on integrating this technology to all rural, industrial and unique buildings such as the Burj Khalifa. We look forward to your feedback on this impressive improvement.

The screenshots of PG are really wonderful and exciting. Thanks for your hard work. However, I hope they will be soon available also in the other maps.

I’ve never been big on night missions, but the new lighting is really adding that something extra! Team is doing a great job! My biggest complaint before was airport lighting, but now its much easier to navigate around them and locate them from a distance. Still a little tough to see the taxiway exits from the runways but its much better than it used to be!  I do feel like the moon at times , and stars could pop a little more, maybe someday. Overall it’s looking very good. Very welcomed upgrades!

Yes, I understood that, I'll wait. So each third party will have to work on their own map? In this case it will really be a longer job than expected ...

Can't wait for the Apache cockpit to get manned. 1st person body models look great 👍

Regarding the new and improved lighting testing for the PG map. I assume it will be, but just to make sure; will these improved features eventually also find their way to 3rd party maps, or will they only be implemented on ED's maps?

System specs:

i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU

HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3

Seems to be up to the 3rd party. Razbam updated the SA map lighting support  with the 2.8 release , same time PG got its update.

The PG lighting looks great down low. I fly VR and even with extreme view distance the lighting is only drawn to about 5 miles making it a non factor in VR. Any word if this is being address in the next update or is that a dcs 3.0 addition?

Thanks

Seconded, lights are awesome, but they should be stretching out to the horizon. It shouldn't tax performance because aside from Dubai, there's not a whole lot of them between the cities.
