As title says, if Rotorbrake is set as an axis the relaese position is switched.

r-brake release is the LOWER handle position.

(handle DOWN - engine start is POSIBBLE , handle UP - engine start is NOT possible)

- BUT:

if the r-brake is set as an axis , the release position is when handle is set in the UPPER position...

(handle DOWN - engine start IMPOSSIBLE , handle up - engine start is POSSIBLE)

it has nothing to do that the Axis is switched, i know that in the axistune menu u can change which way the axis operates.

I can confirm that:
If i have the RB as a axis (On my Virpil CM3 throttle, the flaps lever), the animation vs input is not synchronised.
If i invert the axis in controls/settings, it does not make any difference.

The Black Shark 3 rotor brake has two issues when bound to axis:

1) Its operating behavior is physically upside-down: when the rotor brake is visibly in the up position it registers as disengaged and when it's visibly down it registers as engaged.

2) When cold starting with "Synchronize Cockpit Controls with HOTAS Controls at Mission Start" enabled in the Misc. options, if the rotor brake starts in the up position (i.e. the disengaged position when bound to axis), it is not registered as disengaged. You must move the brake handle down then back up again to register as disengaged.

I first reported these issues in April on the bug reporting section of the ED discord. Hoping I get more traction here, as I absolutely love this module and these issues have really bugged me (no pun intended). Thank you!

1. The bug is independent of you having reversed the axis in axis tuning, (and set it as a slider)?
2. Lots of modules have various issues with the "sync" setting. Some switches and axis are reversed, or need to be toggled/"engaged in max/min" for them to be registered/synced. Hopefully one day this will be fixed.
Again, if you have already tried with the axis reversed, please ignore.
Cheers!

@Poor Yurik It's reported internally. No need for crossposting, thanks.

I've just bumped the report.

Flappie, thank you!!! I didn't know it had been reported internally. Marking your reply as the solution for this thread.

It's the most honest answer I could give. I feel bad for the state of the KA-50 (And other old school modules). Ka-5 has long term bugs, from years ago, and they don't mind fixing them... Take the answer with a grain of salt

Bugs do get fixed. For instance, the rotor light issue will be fixed with the next update.

I'll re-bump the internal report about the rotor brake axis.
