I put it in my « normal » tech folder, (C:\Users\appid\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\Tech)

\Saved Games\DCS\ is not the standard name that the DCS installer uses (It's "DCS World" for the stable branch, or "DCS.openbeta" for Openbeta). Can you attach your dcs.log file to take a look and hopefully gather more clues about the issue?

Actually, that's incorrect. For Stable (or any installation without one or with an empty dcs_variant.txt, will make a DCS folder under Saved Games. A scratch OpenBeta installation will add a dcs_variant.txt file with "openbeta" in it, thus adding ".openbeta" to DCS, making the DCS.openbeta folder.

DCS World is the Default folder for the Core stable installation.

Go to Saved Games\DCS\Logs 

You'll find it there. Just drag the file into a new post here.

The guy that directs your aircraft only seems to give directions with his left arm to the left side. Is there a way for him to use his right arm to give you directions to the right side of him?

Hi Massun92, a great mod, thanks for all your hard work. I love building missions as much as I do flying them. 

One question - the guy saluting is still saluting an hour later when I get back from my mission! When my plane starts rolling, the trigger works and he salutes but his 7 arm must get tired because he doesn't stop after ten second. Am I missing something?

The lua file kindly provided by 313 SQN JD works great, until I add an Invisible Farp to my mission. Add the farp and the saluting guy doesn't spawn, take it out and the lua file works fine again. I can work around it but I'm just letting you know.

Hello everyone,
I have the following problem with the mod - the saluting one and the one showing the direction do this before I or any other unit is within the trigger.

They stick to the set 15 seconds but no matter what I do, they both do it before I'm within the trigger zone.


I don't know what the problem is with this...

I had this in one of my missions. I found that for the Red alarm state, the 'IS USER FLAG' condition had reset and was unchecked.

I just tried your script. I like it. I tried to change the position of the chief but no matter what angle I put it around the aircraft, it spawns in the default 300º.

local heading = _client:GetHeading() + 270

This is the only line I have altered.

Also, how do I get a crew chief to spawn for each a/c in the flight. I would press the > key so extra wingmen would spawn into the same group.
Do I need a separate script file for each crew chief?

if it's working, and keeps doing the same thing, I'd suggest the script hasn't been updated in the miz file / remains unchanged. Drop a trk file of what happens and tag me if you do that and it remains the same.

On your idea, I deleted the mission start trigger to force a new load of the script file and it works. 
So I would have to do this each time I change the script.

Will this crew chief spawn for each additional wingmen?

 

EDIT:  to answer my own question, yes they do, for each client.

Many thanks for your asset pack, it adds another level of immersion in the missions.

I have been using the light templates in some of my mission as the airfields I fly out of are very dark if you get back after dark from a mission - Beslan for example. Beslan, like many other airfields, does not have light towers as standard, so although the lights work great, they are just lightng not attached to anything.

How about creating some light towers to go with your lighting effect - that would be brilliant and I'm sure it would be a popular addition.

If this has been discussed before, please forgive be as searching on these forums is like wading through treacle!

Yes, Beslan has very few high lightowers, but you can also place the hangar lights on the borders of smaller buildings, giving a much better overall lightscape of the airbase:

Hi Rudel_chw - That is pretty much what I did. I am using parking 01 & 02 so it's a bit dark at that end of the airfield. I've put the lights as you are showing them, around the main building and the workshop. I used the top hanger lights for that. I also put four lights behind parking 01 & 02 and also lights on the four light towers. Its enough. I just thought it would be nice if we could place our own light towers - I'm just being greedy really 🙂 I've attached my mission if anyone wants a play - I am new to this mission editor thing so don't expect too much. I've got some A-4E's, as well as a few other 'non critical' things going on in the mission but they are just eye candy so could be deleted if anyone doesn't have the relevant mods.

OK, but if the mission is of your making, you can relocate the aircraft to a better park place 🙂

The VPC Airfield Objects Mod has light towers, in soviet style, they look like this at Beslan:

That's not how it works, if the user does not have the Mod then he can't load it on the Editor to delete the items himself ... maybe you could share two versions of the mission: one with all mods and one with only those that are essentials..

I thought the mission could still edited in the mission editor. I use the mission to test different options and equipment so it seems like a mish mash of things going on. I'll take out the optional bits and reload it. It's just a good fun weapons training excercise for the A-10C III.

Hi,

Seems ED  altered this Editor behaviour over the last few updates, because I just tried to load your mission, knowing that I didn't had the needed User Mods active ... it still tells which Mods I need (couldn't they make the list a bit larger? 🙄 )

However, if I press OK, now the mission loads with no complains, but deleting every single modded object, something it previously wouldn't do:
