Almost half a year after announcement, is there any more info or pictures or anything on this by now? Did I miss something?

Would be great if we could get more information for this machine.

Hi

we will share more information when we are ready to.

The initial tease in the video was to let everyone know we will be creating the CH-47 but development will take time.

thank you for your patience.

Understood.

It looked very advanced in the video. I'm already very excited about the first deeper look in the not too distant future. 👍

So was it a case of ED trying to meet expectations in the Beyond video? Everyone was expecting a tease, so you guys chucked the CH47 in there, despite their being no plans for it this year?

Seems a bit silly that ED is all hush hush about the module. You tease it, create a forum for it, then radio silence.

This is pretty cool, I flew about 2100 hours on the Dutch Chinooks between 2003 and 2012. Looking forward to this. Combined with an (pretty please) Afghanistan map and my sons can fly the places I flew in RC-South.

Wow, 2100 hours is amazing.  You were flying on Ch-47D then I guess?

Today I read that US private operator Billings Airservice purchased 6 CH-47D from the Netherlands for future commercial use.

As BIGNEWY said, the information will come when they are ready to share it. But it looked very advanced to me in the video, so I have hope that it won't be too long before we get the first information.

Personally, I can't wait to finally get a modern transport helicopter, we've been waiting for new helicopters for way too long....

Does anyone know what flight support systems the CH-47F has? Does it have a full autopilot?

I think that the CH-47 isnt the only thing that needs to be ready before we can talk about a release! Im sure it will come with some new core game features or is at least already compatible with them and they follow short after. Maybe im wrong, maybe not.

I hope we get more configuration options for external loads and also finally animations when loading and unloading infantry.

And also a warehouse system where transporting goods (ammo, fuel, spare parts...) from a to b is possible, that would offer more mission profiles for missions. Would be perfect for the Chinook...🤌

On the D-model you can couple the AFCS to the flight director for auto pilot, but not at tactical levels obviously, this was pretty much only used during instrument flying. Maybe the E-models could with do low level AP their TFR, but know nothing about those, except that they looked awesome 😄

I don't know anything about the F models as I was long gone when the Dutch recieved those. Although our Delta's were pretty close to the E models with the custom upgrades such as a full glass cockpit and and advanced self protection system. My memory is a bit hazy as the last time I had anything to do with a Chinook was in late 2011 during my final flight.

Cool, were you a pilot yourself or a crew member?

here of some shots I got of her working the Lake Christine fire in El Jebel CO a few years back.  Always amazed at how much obvious warping the skin has.  https://photos.app.goo.gl/kAs9DHaAo7fde6cz9

I just watched the interview with Wags in the mover & Gonky show. I heard him saying the next module by ED will be the Chinook and it will be F model with glass cockpit.

Anything about which variant, an american F-model or the speculated italian F-model..?

On a second note, is it only the SOAR versions there have refueling option..?

Very surprised to see the CH-47 will come out before the Phantom. I thought the Chinook was at least a year off.  but it's fine with me if it's in two-weeks. Not much of a Phantom phan but that big ass CH-47 is likely going to be a blast fly.

I guess outside of a .50 in the door, this thing will be unarmed. I wonder if they will add any special tricks to make up for it.

Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion. To me it sounds as if he was talking about what’s next in EDˋs pipeline , not the overall pipeline of releases including 3rd party modules. And BNs post above from June said development will take longer.

Anyway we will see.

I could well be wrong, but the video makes it sound like it's next in line to be released.

Question:  "What is next in the pipeline coming soon? Can you even tell us?"

Wags: "I can, it's what's dominating most of my workday today, that's the Chinook.

Chinook can take 3 guns. One at front right door, one left front cabin window and one at rear in the ramp area
