In the VR tab I only have two options "Disable" and "Controllers", there is no "Trackers" option. This option does appear if I try to run OpenXR via Steam but even then, when selecting it, I do not see virtual hands inside the cockpit? Are there any additional steps I should follow to have the virtual hands enabled? No expert here but I've been having the same issue using the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite, which does not have native OpenXR support, so it must use SteamVR for that, across the last two DCS versions including 2.9.10.x just released. I have never been able to see my VR hands in the game in any way in any multi-threaded (MT) version, especially my expected use case, when using a Vive controller to control them (I have my key bind modification key binds mapped to my Vive controller). Forcing VR and OpenXR in the shortcut properties has no effect for me in the last two versions (I think that was a temp requirement a year ago anyway). So far, reverting all the way back to 2.9.7.59263 Single Threaded version (the last stand alone ST version I believe) is the only way I've found to get my VR hands back. I believe the issue is that both of our VR headsets still need to use the SteamVR runtime in order to interface with DCS' current OpenXR environment. That is my only option with my current setup though you probably want to look into using OculusVR runtime in hopes DCS now supports that in their current game versions (all MT) more effectively than they support SteamVR. I've seen many others have the same problem with any HTC Vive setup needing to use SteamVR as well as users of Valve Index, unsure about your fellow Oculus Rift S people though. Here is the procedure I've used to revert back to that old version, it works fine for single player and multi-player air to air as long as they have the same version (VERY few do anymore) with just the F10 basemap missing while rest of map functions are fine. Possible issues with Air to ground in custom missions on it but not fully confirmed. No reason to expect any issues with that old version to be resolved where they do still exist. open terminal and run cd "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin" then run ./DCS_updater.exe update 2.9.7.59263@release That should run the DCS updater but have it "update" you back to that version. Good luck!
Talisman_VR Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Hi Folks, I have just purchased a Somnium VR1 headset and thought I would try and find out about how to use open xr. However, starting to read from page one of this thread is doing my head in, lol. The last post here is early Dec 24, so I was wondering if there is now a more up-to-date definitive guide somewhere that I have not managed to find. Or is page one of this thread the best source? In short, what do I need to have (download?)to be able to use open xr now, what do I need to do now to use open xr and what do I need to know? Any help and guidance (sympathy, lol) would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. Happy landings, Talisman

evanswillo Posted June 30 Posted June 30 HI, welcome to the VR1 club, suggest you take a quick look at the thread here ref the Somnium VR1 or come over to the Somnium VR1 Discord site. I had my VR1 Titan since inital release in December, OpenXR support is working by default with VR1 Software, but you need to be aware that the current / original VR1 OpenXR driver has some issues, these problems were identified by the VR1 community immed on release and Somnium acknowledged these issues and have with their Beta program address 99% of our concerns. Currently very happy running 90fps at 90hz using Beta 4. Happy to help just post any questions you have. 1 1 AMD 7800X3D, MSI PRO X670-P WIFI (AM5) 64GB RGB DDR5 6000MHz Nvidia 4090 Windows 11 Home Version 24H2 OS build 26100.2605 Nvidia Driver 566.36 HOTAS Virpil CM3 Joystick Throttle & Pedal
