I'm almost done with the THAAD system, but one critical setting remains. I need to decide how many Interceptor missiles the AN/TPY-2 (in Terminal mode) can guide simultaneously.

I can't seem to find anything on the subject. Since we only use OSINT sources we won't get the exact number, but a ballpark would be nice. Is it 1, 10, 50?

Any help on the subject would be very appreciated, since it will affect the assets performance a lot. 👍🏻

Генерал-лейтенант запаса рассказал об американских комплексах THAAD | Новости мира | Известия | 08.02.2022 (iz.ru)

As Bizhev pointed out, the detection range of the THAAD station is up to 1.5 thousand km. He also pointed out that such a complex can simultaneously target up to 10 targets in passive mode, and attack six or seven.

his sources are unknown to us

That's interesting, because I found an other source which calculated the simultaneously amount of targets based on its published radar performance characteristics, and concluded around 10 or slightly number of less targets. 👍🏻

HI CH - thanks so much for all the hard work you put into these asset.  I really enjoy using them.

I think I have identified an issue, but i am not sure it's been reported before.  I created a simple mission where I have an F-16C with HTS trying to attack a Patriot site.  I have used the latest version of your USA asset pack (1.0.0), and I have installed the RWR/HARM pack (1.3.1).  What I notice is that while your three versions of the Patriot radar appear on the RWR, they do not appear as a possible target on the HTS/HAD display.  When I swap out the Patriot radar for the default DCS Patriot radar asset in the ME, then the "P" will appear on the HTS/HAD.  Let me know if you've seen this as an issue.

Also, just to verify I have installed the RWR/HARM folder correctly - I have installed it in the same MOD/TECH folder as I've installed all the other mods you've made.  I mention this as it seems the subfolders are a bit different in this particular mod, so just wanted to make sure it's in the correct location.

I should also mention that in a subsequent test of your NSAMS assets, while I was able to get the ARAAM-ER to fire on me, the radar never showed up on my RWR, and I never get any indication of the radar on my HTS/HAD.

Thanks.

I have yet to find a way to add custom assets to the HTS table. But you can do it manually in flight. Just press LIST, 0, E and enter the HARM ID from the table at my site (for example 528 for the LTAMDS radar). Then go into HTS and choose Threat and select MAN for manually. The HTS will then find your custom ID and you can select the target. Since I'm going by memory, forgive me if I got a button name wrong. 👍🏻

In regards to the NASAMS, I will have to check why it doesn't register on the RWR.

This might be old news, but I think it should indeed be established that the THAAD is capable of engaging at least 5 hostile targets simultaneously, and I suppose 10 would be the high estimate.

Great, thanks! Looks like we've found the ballpark. 👌🏻

Status update

The work on the next release of Military Asset Pack USA is going along well, as you may have noticed with all the screenshots. I try to post screenshots on ongoing work more often, since it helps both me and you visualize progress. As you might also have noticed, I'm both adding assets and updating models and textures of current assets. I'm also adding new collision models which should be much less taxing on your systems. Where it's possible I also try to reduce polygons and texture sizes.

I'm more or less finished with addition of new assets and I'm focusing on updating some of the current ones, and then there will be some more testing before release.

Since my change to releasing asset packs instead of singles, testing is much more important. Because fixes for small issues would mean a complete new download. I might introduce separate incremental patch levels. For example, using the VRM (Version, Release, Modification) nomenclature, I would release the Military Asset Pack USA 1.1.0 as a complete download (the current version 1.0.0 is 7.5 GB). If I encounter issues that needs fixing I would then release version 1.1.1 as an incremental patch (most likely MBs rather than GBs in size).

That said, testing is still a large task with all these assets, and I would of course like to avoid obvious bugs or issues. This would require another set of eyes, since it's easy to get home blind.

If anyone has enough spare time, an interest in my assets, prefer things structured and organized and want to help me out with testing before a release, send me a message here or on Discord (Currenthill).

Thank you for all your support, and a special shout-out to all the current donors!

Appreciate the heads-up.  I've tried this too with the community's "high digit SAMs", and i guess they are up against the same issues, as their radars don't appear on the HTS/HAD either.  I really wish ED would put a priority on the DTC - I haven't seen any updates on this in forever.  I think there is a community mod DTC which I'll check out and see if it works.

Also, do you know if there is a LUA text file where the codes can be entered and be more permanent?  When I looked at the chaff/flare program update, i know there is a LUA file where you can set the burst quantities, delays, etc. and they will stay between missions, but it gets written over with each update, but at least there is something were  you don't have to go into the DED each time to update the jet.

CH what is a good alt to overfly with an F-15E against a TOR-M and Pantsir-S2?

Getting shot down with 9M338 at 25000 MSL

25000 MSL works for stock DCS SA-15 and SA-19

Hi CH,

I was wondering if you could quickly put the link for the B-21 Raider mod in here. The ones online dont seem to work anymore.

Thank You, Seb

the modernized Pantsir's 57E6M missile has a surface ceiling of 18KM or 60.000ft AGL. so overflying it is probably not a good idea.

the modernized TOR missile apparently has a max ceiling of 10km and a range of 16km. so you should be able to pass above it at like 33.000ft AGL

Yep, that's correct. My 57E6M and 9M338 are configured just as such. 👍🏻

Hello, the RWR files from CH must be copied into /Scripts/Aircrafts/_Common/Cockpit (core DCS) Before, save original files.

Fortunately F-15E can do 33000 AGL with 2000lb JDAM for the TOR-M 🙂

Can't do that with Pantsir 🙂
