New update distribution model

I'm trying something new with this update. It's available in two versions:

  • The standard full download (for users who haven't downloaded the 1.1.0 version yet and of course want the fixed version).
  • The incremental download which updates 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 and contains only the changed files. You apply it by overwriting your 1.1.0 installation.

My plan is to release fixes (the last digit in the version number) this way going forward. To avoid unnecessary download, but still being able to fix annoying issues. 👍🏻

Thanks! I see the issue, it's the target type. In order to make my DF-21 reasonable accurate in regards to precision I had to be inventive. It uses radar homing, and your target ship doesn't have a radar. If I had used the standard GPS tracking it would be 0 millimeter accurate, which wouldn't be very realistic.

Yes, but the RWR mod must be in the main DCS folder. The other mods can be placed in Saved Games folder.

@currenthill Hi CH, I noticed a small problem with THAAD Radar Trailer Wheeles that don't rotate. This may be an issue on my end but I thought that you may want to know! It's no big problem or anything, I just wanted you to know! Thanks again for all the new assets, they are truly amazing!

One last question, will you make Desert Liveries for the LAV Anti-Air System, the Puma, HIMARS and the Marder?

Thanks, I was sure I had fixed the wheel issue. But it seems I only fixed one side. 🤪

The LAV-AD is already available in desert. The HIMARS also comes with desert liveries. But there seem to be an issue with it on the GLSDB and PrSM AShM versions. All the others have working desert liveries.

There have been many reports online of both sides using those SAMS in a surface to surface configuration.

UKR uses their modified SA-5's to give them a longer range strike capability and RUS using older SA-10 family missiles to augment their SS-26's and 21's due to dwindling supplies.

the THAAD has been working great so far against SCUDsimage.png

i think i found a bug:

thaad is firing at targets that are at about 2000m

its engaging them successfully but thats kind of a waste of thaads... the lua says 40km min altitude though

Hey CH, I jus wanted to say I am currently observing a 0% hit rate for HHQ-9B's being fired at PrSM missiles. These are being launched from both Type 055 and Type 052D ships. The HHQ-9's try to loft up and over the PrSM's but when thry dive down the PrSM go too fast and they go behind the missiles. After one salvo they refuse to fire again at them. This is VS a salvo of about 10 PrSM missiles.

I did some testing and I agree. The flight profile of the HHQ-9 doesn't work very well against the PrSM. I will make a note of it for the next update. 👍🏻

Hello, I am unable to get AI aircraft to engage in air-2-air combat against the Shahed 136 drones. 

I am able to have them engage against other missiles from you such as the chinese cruise missile CJ-10 or also for some reason an F-16 thinks it can take on a ballistic missile at 88k feet asl.

Air defense systems also engage no problem.

I can't find a reason for the aircraft AI not being able to engage. When looking at the database lua files when comparing them I don't notice anything obvious either.

Awesome, 

have you considered adding terminal evasion maneuvers to the NSM? I find that currently it gets totally smacked by CIWS with a 100% pk.

So please don't take this as a complaint as I love CHs mods. However in the world of DCS they seem really overpowered. (They might be accurate to IRL counterpart) How does everyone use them as they are pretty much impossible to defeat.

Personally, I would like to see these military asset packs integrated into DCS World instead of bringing them as a mod. Many don't use mods simply on servers that many visit/open, don't use mods and are therefore useless. Nobody sees anything about the mods. It's a great thing that there's something new about mods - it's just pointless/nonsense if you don't have them on a server/don't use them! It's nice on its own, but it doesn't really do anything to have it! It's like Arma3: endless mods, many are no good and many don't work!

Strange, I've had AI aircraft engage them many times during testing.

It's a shame we can't add snake maneuvers. I've made the NSM with smaller RCS to emulate its stealth capabilities, but it's not enough against the modern ships with high end AESA radars. I might add a final maneuver as it would be more realistic. 👍🏻

Maybe, I didn't think it was important as the launcher is mobile only.

You are completely correct, most of my assets emulate the latest and greatest in military hardware. It would be rather strange if they didn't outclass the older stuff in DCS core. Make sure to set their skill level to low, and don't believe a single flight would take out a modern SAM system. You need good tactics, decoys and numbers.

Well, a lot of DCS users run single player missions only. Besides that, it's not much we can do about it. It's either this or we don't have the assets at all. 😅

I sure do have a lot of fun running different scenarios with a lot of my assets involved.
