Hi all,
I'm still getting the issue where (yes, even in multiplayer servers) I cannot get saved flight tracks to properly recreate the flight trajectory of the aircraft.

I cannot reply my tracks, nor record them, except for what I capture from 3rd party software.  This means if I want to build video off of a sortie with differing points of view, it is currently impossible.

Are there any ideas as to what is causing this issue, and are there any plans in the works for fixing it?

Also - if data here is needed, what kind?  I'd be happy to see if I can get that for devs if they need it.

Tracks are not reliable in replay,  the simpler the track the better...

Which doesn't help people who "want to build video off of a sortie with differing points of view."  And it is NOT just the F-14 and Simple means nothing.  I had a non-F-14 flight in SP where I took off, turned around, dropped some bombs.  Less than four minutes and under 360 degrees of total heading change and the tracks deviated by so much that in reviewing the track I dropped 2 bombs instead of 10 and was over a mile short and over a mile to the right of where I was in the flight.

Tracks are an unreliable mechanism.

The only way to get them at all reliable is to limit the complexity of the mission and its participants. Single player low volume of AI...  simple ... will work, complex high volumes of AI multiplayer might work, might not...

This is a known issue.

track replays are so broken right now they can't even be used as a debugging tool (see dropping two bombs instead of ten) but this is 100% an ED issue.

Also most importantly NO weather. Like at all. The current replay system can’t cope with how much is going on now just in the environment of the sim. It’s strictly a diagnostic tool now as it records inputs but it can’t actually “replay” anything anymore.

A new solution needs to basically pull all states of objects and puppet not re-fly the “replays”. Basically Tacview but driving the DCS stuff. Big BIG CSV files for every frame. Not just an input log.

Thanks all - sounds like this is more an ED issue.   Has this gotten worse? I remember the F16 having a decently accurate track a while back, but I assume this is now worse across the board?

I can't say about across the board, but I have had massively failed tracks with F-14, AV-8B, and Su-27, so two third parties and an FC3.  I rarely ever bother with tracks because of the bad experiences I have had with them.

As they keep making the atmosphere and environment more complex it has come up more. Especially as it dynamically changes over time.

Single player with a SERVER track file is the only way to go. When I film I run a second instance, no render DCS World private server on the same PC.  Go to multiplayer, find the sever, get in and fly. Back out and replay the server track file. Sadly not from inside the cockpit.
