Авиабаза 1521, Мары sent me to clear a couple of things up.

Mary-1 “aggressors” were flying the following aircraft:
In the early 70s MiG-21PFM, SM, UM and in 1974 - MiG21Bis.
Since the fall of 1975, the 2nd squadron on the MiG23M/UB (non-woven blue with white edging, camouflage since 1979)
MiG-23MLD was flown since 1984,
The MiG-29 9.12 was adopted from 1989 for the 1st squadron and from 1991 for the 2nd squadron.

Its a Razbam module, and due to the financial dispute with ED its on hold.

Last thing we saw before, was radar on HUD with ground clutter.

What a pity that this is on hold... would be such a great module for Mig-21 fans.

Mig29-A doesn't really fill it (and lacks the beauty of soviet blueish cockpit if I'm not mistaken).

Yes its a shame - I really like the MiG-21 and was looking forward to the 23 to round out some of the Soviet fighters (albeit from the sounds of it was it was going to be a handful and probably disappoint a few people who liked to turn and burn)

If ED is going to make one themselves, why not make the MiG-23MLD instead of the MLA?

Nobody said anything yet about which variant will be created. Heck, we don't even have a solid confirmation that a MiG-23 is coming to DCS in the foreseeable future. I wouldn't get too excited unless the MiG-23 is officially announced, so I don't want to start debating which variant ED should create. Let me just say this: I get it that some people always want the latest and best version of any plane, but I'd prefer a variant that was in widespread use instead. So ML(A) all the way!

Nope, it's not about having the best variant. It's about the vortex generators. They made the MLD a better dogfight jet than its brother variants. And that means more fun.

Forget it guys. This projec ist dead. As far as I can see it, the same goes for any other RedFor plane. DCS is mor or less a BlueFor only flight sim. (Which is the reason DCS set dust on my Hard Drive since years now.) Sad but true it seems.

I don’t use this Sim anymore. I will not buy anything for DCS unless ED change his policy for RU planes.

mig29 will come. sales are unlikeli to be like F16/18. after all, 16 and 18 are new models, not aircraft from 80s.hope is on su27/33 and chinese/indian aircraft from russian. but they will not even be close in capabilits to blue side. unfortunatli, that is true. 60-80s aircraft remain, and they will be boughta little less, than advertised "cool" 16/15/18
