Bit Defender gave me these warning on my client PC and dedicated server:

The file F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\C-101\bin\C101Core.dll is infected with Gen:Suspicious.Cloud.4.gy4@a8i6Rsbi and was moved to quarantine. It is recommended that you run a System Scan to make sure your system is clean

Add another one, and Bit Defender just deleted those files too

Having to re download the whole of the Open Beta as even though DCS was on an exclusion Bit Defender successfully disabled the whole DCS

www.digitalcombatsimulator.com seem to get issue too.

I am not sure if it's a false positive or if they are under attack, from people trying to use auto-update to infect pc.

I'm glad I held off from updating.  Whether it's bogus or real... they need to straighten their s*** up.  Well, I'm going to extend my little vacation from DCS :juggle:

Having trouble loading DCS tonight? I have and I just wrote a post about it.Version DCS 2.8 stable

I just deleted both with Bitdefender and then did a DCS repair.

All good now, checked the actual two files on the bin folder of the two planes and the version there is from the 08.6.2023.

The two files causing the virus warning were from 09.6.2023.

Apparently all is good now.

Before I add DCS to an exception list or start deleting and reinstalling...

Can someone explain how this would happen all of a sudden? (im not very tech savvy) Im just trying to understand if I've had the game for years and Bitdefender for years why would this get flagged now during the latest update?

Thank you for any insight....

Actually, this has happened for a long time now .. take a look at a quick search:

it’s the antivirus makers the ones at fault, flagging innocent files as virus … direct your anger to them, not DCS.

Rudel, could you check please when these two files were last modified on your install?

X:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\C-101\bin   : C101Core.dll

X:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\Mirage-F1\bin  : MirageF1Core.dll

Mine, now are from the 8th of June.

Early this morning, the 2 files in question ( that were reported as a virus) were listed as last modified on the 9th of June.

Not sure it had to do with false positive.

After deleting them and repairing DCS, now they look ok and no more warnings from Bitdefender.

Have you performed a "Repair DCS World" before launching DCS ?

I had Bitdefender delete those files. Went into STEAM to do an integrity check and it said it successfully validated the files...shouldn't it have failed or "fixed" those files I deleted?

Not sure if Im missing something or its going to be a whole reinstall.Integrity Check Results.JPG

I guess what I meant was its never happened to myself.

It happened to me once, many years ago … placed DCS on the AV exclusion list and never had to suffer this again.

Bit defender has never flagged a DCS file but thanks for the link.

Everytime DCS is updated, or you purchase a new dlc, a lot of new DCS files get downloaded … any one of them could be flagged by the AV, its a chance game 🙂

Same here, I've disabled BitDefender, trying to run a repair and it constantly fails with access denied on the C101 files

Edit:  Fixed - Added DCS folder to BitDefender Exceptions, rebooted and ran a repair again.

I also deleted the file. Added the steam apps to my exception list. Restarted windows. Opened steam and was able to download and the install worked. (I have auto DL on so it started as soon as I started Steam.

So, the modified file from the 8th was still giving you the warning?   Yes... I know, you already 'repaired' and running. Just curious.
