escaner Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Hello Using the Supercarrier cat launch crew with the F-14A I don't get the signal to extend the wings and I get the one to retract the launch bar after the plane is attached to the shuttle (which is incorrect in the F-14 because un-kneeling detaches the bar from the shuttle). With the F-14B everything is fine. Anyone having this same problem with the F-14A? As a second question: is there a quick way to set the bingo value in the F-14? It takes ages for me, both with the mouse wheel or dragging with the left mouse button. Thanks! 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Yes, everyone else: because the super carrier module thinks the F-14A is a Hornet. It's been like that for years, and is up to ED to fix. 6 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill RipjawsM5 DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero Pro Flight Trainer Puma | VIRPIL MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | Virpil CM3 throttle | Virpil CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | TPR rudder pedals OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings

DeathRaptor5 Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 (edited) The super carrier ground crew bug is a known bug. there is a manual fix that you can do the grown crew lua. Past this file in the your DCS install folder. Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\tech\USS_Nimitz\scripts. Here a screen shot of the edit. One extra thing I had to change on mine, though, was it just said F-14A on the line above. You gotta change it to F-14A-135-GR for it to take effect (that must be why it's taking extra long to fix, lol). 1
draconus Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 @Flappie can you contact the devs team? Looks like 1 minute fix in SC file but it's been years like that. 4 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
escaner Posted August 3, 2023 Author Posted August 3, 2023 @DeathRaptor5 Thanks a lot, it worked! @Callsign JoNay The shift + left button drag for the Bingo setting does not seem to be any faster for me. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Maybe it's shift and mouse scroll wheel. I seem to remember it making a bit of an improvement last time I tested it. It's still very slow, unfortunately. I don't know why HB insists on making us suffer with it. It should be an easy enough QOL improvement. They make QOL concessions in other aspects of the model, but for some reason they take a hard line on the Bingo knob, because apparently it was slow in real life too. 1

Do you mean things like switches being too loud? It makes up for a lack of haptic feedback, so makes logical sense to have that feature. I have no problem with that. Yes, I believe it shows A2A weapon selected too. I think that's just something left over from an early build. The Lantirn displays weapon selected in regard to guided bombs. Not a huge deal though. I'd much rather time was spent getting the refuelling probe light working in a useable fashion, or implementing engine fire extinguishers properly. If you hover over the special option for the feature I'm talking about a pop up comes up explaining that it's a QOL consession they made for the user because the text in the RIO weapon wheel is small and hard to read.
