bkthunder Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 I have 32Gb RAM and page file enabled. Keeps crashing in MP missions, tried different modules and maps. Vanilla install, no mods. Vanilla windows 10 install where DCS is the only software installed apart from TM Target, VPC configurator and Track IR. dcs.log-20230804-192528.zip dcs.log-20230731-161453.zip dcs.log-20230731-161457.zip dcs.log-20230731-145924.zip Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s
AdrianL Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Your page file is set to 12 gig. Set it to 32 gig. Crash is due to the fact DCS is getting 'not enough memory' errors

bkthunder Posted August 5, 2023 Author Posted August 5, 2023 There's one more learning point though: my page file was set with a minimum size of 12 Gb and a maximum of 32, so it should have used more than 12 before crashing. Now I set it for min. 32 and max 32 and it stopped crashing. 2 Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s

Windows does strange things with different setups regarding memory management.A few years ago, I had upgraded my computer from Win7, through 8, 8.1 and 10. (Was lazy). Had NO issues with any other apps than DCS, but DCS requires lots, even if I had 32 Gigs. Had to set custom page file.Decided to go back to what I always did before, reinstalled Win10, let Windows manage men, have had NO me related crashes since.Go figure!
