During the 'loading screen', DcsMax will replace 'ON THE FLY' the default mission skin by YOUR beloved skin !

Your WignMen will have also your skin :)

by 'ON THE FLY', i mean that all the mission files (in yours several folders) are not modified at all :)

DcsMax is only processing the TEMPorary mission file loaded by dcs.exe :)

 

now you don't need anymore to edit mission file to use your skin !

now you can fly all campaign mission with your beloved skin !

Description

DcsMax is a CPU affinity tool dedicated to Blackshark game

It run silently in tray bar to set CPU affinity on DCS.exe each time you launch a mission session

it can run an solo or multiplayer game

it can launch also TRACKIR automatically

It can launch TeamSpeak and Mumble voice utility

If DCS.exe is already launched when you launch DcsMax, DcsMax will detect it and will set CPU affinity on all cores(1)

(1) note that you can also enable/disabled some core

A message will appear in screen center telling you that affinity has been adjusted.

important note for intel I7 owners (or AMD with 4core + hyperthreading)

if you don't have 8 cores available in windows task manager (and 8 checkbox available in DcsMax), it means:

- either your bios settings are false

- either in your msconfig/boot/advanced/, only 4 cores are ticked

- either both ;)

In Windows XP 32 bit with a C2D E8400, 4 Gb Ram, 8800GTS, I get 40-50fps. Without DCSMax, only 25-35...

Question, does this help for us using the i7 cpu's? Since my i7 cpu shows 8 cores, not 4, and this is because of multithreading.

IT WORKS !!

 

confirmed through task manager that 4 cores were "on"

 

I will report on framerate later as I'm running abris and shkval on 2sd monitor and I lost my fps counter . :(

 

I had tried Jesse's app before and was getting about 10% better FPS by setting affinity manually through the task manager with the core i7 .

Never mind about the flaming cliff request. I tried and modified the DSCAff script from one of the members, to reflect lockon.exe. I'm sad to report that I cannot see any differences with lockon. I also tried Task Assigned from http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/bang-dual-processing-buck,815.html

I was going to sit down with VS2005 tonight and write my own tool for doing just this. Yours is alot better than what I had in the planning stage, love the simplicity of the UI! The track IR launch is just a stroke of genius.

 

Now, for the nitty gritty....

 

On a Vista x64 box

AMD Phenom 9950 running stock at 2.6

4GB DDR2 @533MHz

HSI 4870 512MB (at stock

2 250GB WD2500AAJS in Raid 1

 

From Launch to sitting in cockpit and turning on the DC Ground power in Mission "Shooting Range"

Load times are

1:54 on a fresh boot without your tool

1:36 on a fresh boot with your tool

56 seconds on a DCS Full relaunch without your tool

49 seconds on a DCS FUll relaunch with your tool

In short :thumbup:

 

I only built this PC 2 weeks or so ago and havent done ANY frame rate testing.....

I get the same error :(

Tried both the "test.exe" and version 1.1 of this program.

 

I get: "Error: Variable used without being declared!" as well. This also happens with "Jesse's" Affinity tool so it must be a problem with my two seperate physical quad-core processors.
