Maxxox Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 DCS 2.9 crashes every time i try the dcs.log-20231019-185344.zipmicrophone-test. I am using an Sennheiser USB-Soundcard. Every other programs work fine, no problems. 1
Flappie Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 I've just tested on my end with a simple jack mic, and DCS does not crash. Please open a support ticket : log into DCS website, click "Support", then click "Create a new ticket". ---
Harath Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 I'm getting the same with a Soundblaster AE-7. Might be something to do with sample rate/bitdepth? I haven't had the opportunity to test it fully.
Atazar SPN Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 The same problem. My voice is emitted but it is emitted as if it were the voice of a Smurf robot. (Trust GTX wireless headset)
v2tec Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I can confirm the problem too. Crash report was sent. GhastlyTT Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I also have a game crash when using the microphone test on my system using Nova Pro Wireless headphones while SteelSeries GG Sonar is running for my voice chat mix. I do not have the crash if I disable SteelSeries GG. It might be helpful for troubleshooting to know that SteelSeries GG's mic format shows as 2 channel 48000hz format in windows.
Flappie Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I'll report this issue. Please attach the latest zip file from your "Saved GamesDCS.../Logs" folder. ---

DCS freeze and most of the time crash report is corrupted and unreadable. But I had a valid crash report I sent just after crash. Beside this if I use another soundcard for output the microphone test with the GSP-370 is working.
BoneDust Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Same issue here with G2 mic using MT exe, but not every time. I sent a crash report. Bunzy Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I am also getting the crash here. I even tried selecting different options in the Microphone drop down menu but as soon as I press the "Start Microphone Test" button it crashes. I have sent the crash reports in game and here are my logs. dcs.log-20231020-205722.zip dcs.log-20231020-210523.zip dcs.log-20231020-211322.zip
Flappie Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 Devs are working to find out what causes this issue. 2 ---
Atazar SPN Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 The sound test for me is unsuccessful but now on the servers I can send and receive without problems.
SignorMagnifico Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 I'm also having the same issue. SignorMagnifico Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 I installed the hotfix today, and the game is still crashing in the main menu when I try a microphone test. dcs.log dcs.log-20231027-022754.zip i7-8700k OC to 5.1GHz, Sound BlasterX AE-5, Creative Sound BlasterX H7 Tournament Edition, Asus ROG Maximus X Code Corsair Dominator DDR4 32GB 3200MHz, EVGA RTX 3080Ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid, Acer Predator XB271HU WQHD IPS Monitor, Logitech G510S, Anker 8000DPI Gaming Mouse, HOTAS Warthog, Thrustmaster TFRP Pedals, Track IR 5, Windows 10 Professional, https://www.youtube.com/c/iflyflightsims
Flappie Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 Yes, this problem has not been solved yet. Devs are still looking for the cause of the 2.9 Voice Chat issues. ---
Draken35 Posted October 27, 2023 Posted October 27, 2023 (edited) One tidbit of info: I am also having the issue with my USB Headset (Corsair HS60) but if I change it (headset and mic), in DCS, to my the VR Headset (Oculus Quest 2, via link cable), DCS doesn't crash and Voice Chat works as expected... If you need (more) logs and dumps, let me know. Edited October 27, 2023 by Draken35 1
Antiguedad Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Same problem here with Focusrite Scarlett Solo, mic crackling and DCS crash.
Draken35 Posted November 5, 2023 Posted November 5, 2023 I uninstalled the iCUE Software for Corsair and it fixed my issue...Now I can use VC with my headset without issues This software https://www.corsair.com/us/en/s/icue 1
Flappie Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 Can someone still reproduce a DCS crash when testing the mic in OB 2.9.1.48335? ---
Vakarian Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I have right now tried mic test in the audio window, no crash. I've also tried testing the sound filters in the radios (this caused crash for me in the initial 2.9 release), no crash there. So far, so good 1
