Terrain object shadows to OFF, finally no stutters (High perf PC)

AMD 7800X3D, 4090, 64GB DDR 5 Ram, Varjo Aero.

No matter what, I was always getting stutters  , then turned Terrain object shadows to OFF, and it was a game changer, runs much smoother.

Before I had it on default.

Still I see that trees have shadows and buildings too, so precisely which shadows are this shadows in the game?

If you're suffering from stutters and running an intel hybrid CPU, have you tried this?

I am 100% confused about this.
Yesterday, in MT with newest patch 2.9.1, I flew with Terrain Shadows OFF, and no shadows of buildings and trees where shown.

Maybe this helps (3:16 - ~6:00):

I set the Terrain Shadows off and seemed to help me.  Still get the building and tree shadows here, so that seems fine.

I set the terrain shadows to off and I no longer have any shadows at all in MT the only shadows that remain are the shadows of my plane and those of the clouds on the ground, but no more shadows of the buildings or trees and more stuttering

I actually learned to turn on SSS to have tree and building shadows to be shown (even with setting "Terrain shadows" set to OFF).
I also learned that SSS doesn't need big additional performance, which I like. The only thing is, that if you come closer to these objects, the shadows then start disappearing. But above one to two thousand feet they start looking OK.

I wasn't able to reproduce the FPS gain by disabling terrain object shadows. In fact I lowered all my graphics option to a low/medium preset and didn't notice a big change, even after clearing shader caches. I assume this trick is more noticeable if you aren't affected as much by other limiting factors, like loading of objects tanking your performance.

My holy huckin' GAWD, you people and your beast PCs. You have no excuse for stutters. Now stop playing games on it and use it to design a real fighter jet 🙂

Anyway, it has been well-known for a long time that the shadow system in DCS isn't all that great, is pretty confusing at times, and causes stuttering. It doesn't cause stuttering for me, but I do find that I have to set ground shadows to Flat instead of Default to avoid heavy framerate drops at low altitudes over built-up areas.

Maybe they'll re-write that part of the sim sometime in the years to come, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
