Still coming end of year?

I remember a post (or two) where Cobra had said it's coming by the end of 2023. With it being the end of November, there are only 5-ish weeks left until 2024.

The only reason I bring this up is how the 2022 release went. I'm sure many of us would rather be told now that the release window was missed instead of learning by the window itself being missed.

Yes, I'm aware of the Pre-order saying Winter 23/24. Yes I know the F-14 followed a very similar release date. Yes I know these things are hard to plan.

The whole point of this is post is saying please tell us sooner rather than later if the 2023 window from September is going to be missed.

Winter is  very short in 2023.

There is more of it in 2024.

He could still be hoping for it to release by December. December is still technically Winter and if they manage to pull it off, more power to them. I imagine the Winter 23/24 is just in case they miss it by a couple of weeks.

Sure, but that doesn't mean it's not coming in 2023. The last discussion of an actual release date/year was in Sept when cobra said it's coming in 2023. The pre-order saying Winter 23/24 still includes that

I would just hope we don't get another 2022 where the release comes and goes with nothing until later in Jan. There was even talk in November of 2022 where they said the phantom was nearing completion instead of just telling us "it's not coming in 2022. It's going well but we're behind schedule"

Uh, in your post you included "The pre-order saying Winter 23/24". Their release date won't be missed if it comes out in late February or early March because that is still the winter of '24.

again, the release date they gave in september of "before 2023 is over"

They've sorta said this a few times and winter 2023 IS before 2023 is over. I'm sure you could understand why someone would think it's coming before 2023 is over when the 2 "dates" they've given sorta match up, so if they are going to miss one it would be nice to know sooner than later.

All we can gauge from is their social media and social interaction - they are very very busy right now as they have been all year, and there is no indication there will be a release in 2023. My current estimate is "when it is ready" hahaha. Joking aside, I did think Christmas was a possibility, but they haven't even released the manual yet... looking like Feb/March at minimum, April/May at maximum. I would also love to be proven wrong, but we haven't seen any pics of the back seat, no system deep dives, no white papers... looking like a pretty dry run up with only a few weeks left in the year. Just my $0.02 and very much still stoked that it is around the corner no matter what!

To be honest, no, I couldn't understand that. With devs knowing best how far the are into project currently, by definition whatever estimate is given at later date scratches the estimate given at earlier date, even if they overlap. Here, or in Il-2, or in any game for that matter. Christmas release would be nice, of course, but what was said in September is irrelevant now.

They promised manual before release and wso video before release, considering there is only one and half weeks left till December without any of it and then there is huge holiday period for ED after Christmas and others will have vacations during and prior to it. I wouldn't count on release this year at all.

This time they've said "winter of 23/24" so it's unreasonable to think they are failing to hit their projected release if it doesn't happen before January 1st.

If it releases after March 18th then you will have a legitimate complaint. March 19th is the first day of spring in '24.

As everyone else has said, and as you well know by now, 'by the end of the year' has changed to 'Winter'. Obviously, that means it may or may not come this year.

The way you're repeating yourself and now shifting ground, this looks like trolling to me. Take what I and everyone else who has responded has said, or don't, but either way your question has been answered repeatedly.

To save you all nerves... Just dont count with Q2 2024 release but rather Q3-4 2024. This way, you can be only positively surprised... Hopefully.

They said Winter. Now, many people forget winter doesn't start until Dec 21st and lasts until March 21st.

Well, quite frankly ... I'm also not expecting the Phantom to be available this year anymore.

But not even in Q2 of 2024 ?

Because every time they set timeframe, it ended up well beyond that set timeframe. So unless we get proper release date on steam, i count with atleast 6 more months from what they set. What we saw so far are external pictures mainly, no closer videos of how things work in the jet, no rear seat at all or any weapon deployment.

You haven't been watching closely then, we have seen bombs dropped and migs splashed, though not in a tutorial aspect.

 

Either way, the preorder is out. If it follows the same path as the tomcat we will see a release in March. Tomcat preorder was Oct and released March the following year. They couldn't feasibly release the preorder and then delay it 6 more months of the preorder said a release of winter '23. That would become legal trouble.

 

My next question would be: what videos on the tomcat did we have before preorder/one month after? I know the RIO pit was last as YouTubers had access to the module before it was done and we're told not to show it.
