kotor633 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Since January 18, 2024, the status is "the English translation was finished and is currently being proof read." But there is a recurring theme: still waiting for an English manual for the JF-17 (yes, that's not ED's job, but you can trigger the third-party providers to at least provide an English-language manual), the ARC-210 is still not mentioned in the A-10C manual. 4 ************************************** DCS World needs the Panavia Tornado! Esac_mirmidon Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) With the actual situation around DCS evolving, resources, updates, manpower hours, etc, i really hope ED takes extra care for those little things that on the overall image are really secondary but in the end makes an important part of us to get angry or ar least pissed off. Like, hey guys stop for a moment, just take a look about dozens of little issues we have pilled up on the to do list that are easy to fix. Call for help to your open external beta testers and just focus on fix at least part of that, for example this topic. Just take a moment ED and complete the manuals, let others outside ED, read them. Take a moment to check if ALL THE FIXES on every update are really included and working before listing them. Check if all third parties updates are included on the final version released. Try to sum those little things like lights errors on modules, lack of mipmaps on several skins, lack of manuals for years, fix former missions not up to date, campaings, etc. I think a patch with all those tiny bits of homework to make DCS cleaner and consistent will be very welcomed. I completely agree with this. With a game as complex as DCS, incomplete and/or inaccurate documentation and the little errors found here and there all add up to make a significant dent in the fun. A big part of the fun for me with DCS is learning and mastering a new skill or procedure. With the current general state of DCS documentation when something doesn't go as expected, I don't know if it's my mistake, a documentation error or a game bug. This post deserves more visibility. Too bad it's buried in the Hind section so maybe a dozen people will see it 3

But similar threads in the past about training missions not working (getting bugged over time) etc have seen equally little response - sadly. 1 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
Esac_mirmidon Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) My bad taking some liberty to spread my thoughts in this topic, where is not related specifically about the HInd manual. Sorry for that. My point should be posted in another place. Edited January 21 by Esac_mirmidon 1 " You must think in russian.." Well, yes but also no: the fundamental issues plaguing the original topic of this thread and the things you mention are exactly the same. 1 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
Esac_mirmidon Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Agree, but the OP is about the Hind manual, and i feel bad about derailing the conversation. 1 " You must think in russian.." Dragon2345 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 March 2025 and still no English manual for the Hind after 4 years since release. There are absolutely no excuses for this lack of customer service from ED. I can understand a short delay, but this is ridiculus. If I had known, there is no way I would have bought this module. Chuck's is good but it doesn't have the detail of a properly written manual, particulary for a complex module like Hind. This is yet another example of ED slipping and not respecting their long term customers. I really like DCS, but I'm starting to be more and more disappointed in the company, even though I have invested alot of money for modules, terrains and campaigns. Maybe ED should implement some partical refunds for customers whom have purchased the Hind module. Better still, get it's act together. Wayne 3

It's certainly proving to be one of the most read-proof documents i've ever heard of. Clearly there is one solution: we need the WarThunder community to get interested in the Mi-24P. the DCS Mi-24P manual will be leaked on the WT forums within days of that happening. 1
Chess96 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Soon enough the manual will have had a longer writing and proof reading time than the module's development time... This is getting seriously frustrating, just make what you have available to the community please, it can only be an improvement on what we have now and frankly no one is expecting it to be perfect anyway. Most of us would already be happy to have the Russian version and translate it ourselves.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 24 ED Team Posted March 24 folks we get it, the manual is overdue, Ive expressed to the team it needs to be in public builds as soon as possible. thank you 4 2 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Raffi75 Posted Sunday at 01:30 PM Posted Sunday at 01:30 PM This topic keeps coming back like a boomerang. @BIGNEWY Do you see it? It seems the time has come for a full, official manual.
kotor633 Posted Sunday at 03:32 PM Posted Sunday at 03:32 PM Since January 2024, the English manual has been in 'proof read' status. The latest statement from ED on this was that there is currently a lack of corresponding manual writers. ************************************** DCS World needs the Panavia Tornado!
