Shadok Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 (edited) Yes, a big improvement in the flight model. And thanks for the special options in the configuration menu, force feedback is well recognized and the show controls option is welcome. Looking forward to seeing what’s new in the update. I haven’t seen a list yet but I’ve got a bit protective of our little bird already. I’m feeling guilty for leaving her while I learn the Phantom and between you and me, I’ve got one eye on the Cobra and another on the Kiowa too. Probably shouldn’t be flying anything with my eyes the way they are. I’ll have a think about extensions. I have desk-mounts with my stick between my legs so it depends how things measure up. Also, well, most of you are probably the same, or will be in time but I keep eyeing up flashy lights and clicky-switches and fancy some peripheral therapy . Wonder what’s coming in the update now? I really must try to focus. Ah, I was writing while the list was posted. Nice, looking forward to it. In order to try an extension, just get an old broomstale, cut to length and insulation tape it to your joystick. then you get the feel of an extension. 2 3XS AMD RyzenTM 7 9800X3D, AM5, Zen 5, 8 Core, 16 Thread, 4.7GHz, 5.2GHz Turbo, ASUS PRIME X870-P WiFi AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 ATX Motherboard,Nvidia Geoforce RTX4090,Corsair Vengeance Grey 64GB 6000MHz AMD EXPO DDR5 Memory Kit,Windows 10 Pro Reverb G2V2

Marshallman Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 OK all...further flying and way better than it was!!! Only thing I am seeing is when pulling high G turns left or right the torque drops to well below hover requirements around 15 to 20% Not saying its wrong, but Apache no torque drop, Huey within 10% drop, Gazelle within 10% drop This is causing erractic flight departures in the Turns. Anyone else see this or am I wrong?? Marshallman Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 OK 80kts Left Turn 45 degree turn on the horizon and it drops the torque and the nose. Same speed right turn holds the line correctly in the turn Cant see anything to give me G settings but not impossible to overcome, but it catches you out at low level Nimbus Just now, Marshallman said: OK 80kts Left Turn 45 degree turn on the horizon and it drops the torque and the nose. DOWNLOAD LINK - https://github.com/tobi-be/DCS-OH-6A/releases that updated flight model has made a huge difference - using your settings as well - can now hoever no problem - take off need a bit more work - i find i am either using too much or not enough rudder (mostly left it seems). I think when the yellow spring for hotas turns up i will be rocking - feel like i am fighting the spring at the moment 3

KeyserSoze62 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 I can't make sense of the new trim release feature? I have all the trim buttons mapped. Trim reset and the 4 directional trims all fine and obvious. Trim release I expected to work like the Apache where you either hold it, get stable and release or fly get stable press it and then re-center your flightstick to regain control. When i press it in either case it immediately trims to that position but it multiplies my control and the aircraft goes out of control. There is no ability to re-center joystick and keep flying. What am I missing? I have center spring Virpil and I did set the special settings to central position mode.

That one is if you DON'T HAVE springs (N)OR FFB. The wording is bonkers and have always led to confusion. It should just be "springless joystick". Default is for FFB, but to be honest I have never noticed any difference. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk Edited June 4, 2024 by MAXsenna

By "default" do you mean "joystick with spring/central position" ?, with this option my msffb2 react like KeyserSoze62 describe just above. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/341089-transparent-body-part/
MAXsenna Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 By "default" do you mean "joystick with spring/central position" ?, with this option my msffb2 react like KeyserSoze62 describe just above.I haven't tried the 1.2 release yet, but if it was to be equal to every official helicopter module in DCS. The first option would be for instant trim/FFB. The UH-60L module also have the issue were trim gets exponentially doubled every time you press the trim button. Even the new FM in the Gazelle had this before it was fixed. So I imagine adding FFB for helicopters isn't exactly straight forward. So if the option for springless joysticks works, obviously go with that. Even if that option is not for FFB in other modules.Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 2
gfery Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 can you please add skid friction? it feels like sliding around on ice even on hard concrete apron.
