MoleUK Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) Tried both DLSS and DLAA now, on preset J. DLSS has noticeably improved across the board, but minor ghosting still remains. Can see it on treetops as they passby. However, DLSS on J seems to want to delete aircraft/dots when they pass in front of cloud cover at a distance, which for me is a non starter. DLAA on preset J is just a flat improvement across the board with no new downsides as far as I can tell, apart from the performance hit which is supposed to be alleviated by moving to 571.96. No issue with dots/planes getting squashed with only DLAA enabled. I tried installing 571.96 but immediately got CTD's in DCS when trying to load in so I suspect it was a bad innstall, will try it again tonight. This is all in VR with quad view enabled as well, so dots/planes getting squashed may be related to DLSS 4 interacting negatively with my aggressive quad view settings. Edited January 25 by MoleUK 3
Silver_ Posted January 25 Posted January 25 (edited) I also tried the preset J with the latest NVDIA 566.36 and of course I had to modify by script in NVPI to get the J mode (checking this within DCS with DLSstweaksconfig, GlobalForcedPreset in default and HudOverride actived to check it). What I notice is more sharpness in the cabin and all well defined small letters, even in the MFDs of the F16 but what I notice outside cockpit is like a water effect, double image sometimes on the ground, nothing of sttutering , the aircrafts are ok without ghosting. This makes the terrain not see, far, clearly. In cockpit, yes, everything is OK. My graphic card is a 3090 with Quest 3 , I think that in moderns cards it could goes well. Yes. I have noticed this as well. There seems to be a loss of contrast against some backgrounds. Also, severe smearing of aircraft against the ground. 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).

Might mean it's better for the BVR enjoyers. 2
BlackReef Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) I am noticing significantly more ghosting with the latest DCS update. Im on nvidia 566.36 and DLSSTweaks v0.200.8.0, setting "F" Edited January 26 by BlackReef 1

Esac_mirmidon Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) Im on monitor. The new dll is way better than before, im really happy with it but i´ve found an issue with water reflections and cast shadows on the sea. Im seeing square effects, specially with movement, and weird shadow cast vanishing in polygon shapes. Someone else have the same issue? I´ve tried different shadow options, water options, etc but the issue persists. Edited January 26 by Esac_mirmidon 1 " You must think in russian.." Mustang Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) New DLL and preset from first impression is exceptional in terms of image quality and motion, I use preset G and all DLSSQualityLevels set to 1.0 with DLSS Tweaks. Edited January 26 by Mustang

BlackReef Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I have a question and I'm a bit confused. I have a 4070ti. I'm on nvidia 566.36 drivers and DLSSTweaks v0.200.8.0 - Should I upgrade to the latest version of DLSSTweaks? Or does it not matter as long as I manually place the DLL file in the game directory? I'm confused on the purpose of this app. - If I manually add the DLSS 4 file to DCS, how do I change the presets, especially if I am not using the DLSSTweaks app? - Will DLSS 4 be released on 1/30/25 anyways? If that's the case, I can just update through Nvidia app right? - Can I leverage DLSS swapper app at all, or is that an app that simply just puts the .DLL file in the game for you, which I can do manually anyways..? Thank you!

Thank you! Follow these instructions. DLSSTweaks doesn't do preset J. These instructions will use Nvidia Profile Inspector to did. DLSSTweaks can still be used though to enable the hud debug overlay so that you can verify it worked. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
VietGirl Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hi , just found this on nexusmods , https://github.com/emoose/DLSSTweaks Wrapper DLL that can force DLAA onto DLSS-supported titles, along with tweaking scaling ratios & DLSS 3.1 presets. Most titles that support DLSS2+ should hopefully work fine with this, but if you find any that don't, or have any other issues, feel free to post in the github issue tracker, or make a post on this NexusMods page. 2025 update: DLSS transformer model was just released, will post an update for DLSSTweaks shortly, for now you might be able to select the preset by choosing preset "G" in the INI. , hope it helps when it's released . 2

That doesn't actually work. DLSSTweaks only supports up to G (which is unused). The reason this works for some games is because they then fall back on the default in that library of preset J. This is not true of DCS which will fallback on C instead. You can see this when you enable the dlss debug overlay in DLSSTweaks. You have to use Nvidia Profile Inspector to set J. 1 AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2
VietGirl Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Hi sleighzy, if you read the bottom of the post you will see that the developer is giong to do an update to work with the new DLSS Tranformer model , we will just have to wait! also the old version works for me , just have to set it to G , ingame it is J ! 2
Mustang Posted January 28 Posted January 28 (edited) I've read in various other forums that presets G and J are the same. Edited January 28 by Mustang 2

Is that when you yourself are looking at the DLSS hud overlay (turned on in DLSSTweaks)? Or just based on the screenshots in the GitHub issue (as this will be different per game)? It shows C for me in the debug hud when the preset is set to G. DLSSTweaks Hud overlay enabled and forced preset to G settings from the DLSSTweaks config tool. null Edited January 28 by sleighzy AMD 7800x3D, 4080Super, 64Gb DDR5 RAM, 4Tb NVMe M.2, Quest 2

Weird. It shows as C for me with that setting. So it shows as J for you? Hmmm, I’ll see what I’m doing wrong then. Even with Nvidia Profile Inspector setting to G it still shows as C. You’re using the wrapper approach with DLSSTweaks, I switched to using the global override method in DLSSTweaks for it a little while ago as was easier, used to do the wrapper so maybe I’ll try that again.
