playing yesterday on 4YA server. Two of us, two flights, same thing happened each time.

Flew up to 5km or so. dove on bogeys - Altimeter and Speed indicator freeze up. All circuit breakers are in, so heating on pitot tube should work.

In one of the flights mine "unstuck" after i dove down, but on second flight, it did not despite flying low for quite some time. So I'm not sure if this relates to freezing or not...

What did we miss ? I couldn't find anything in manual.

Thanks

I don't think pitot heat works on any of the warbirds currently. I get it on multiple aircraft and even when in clear air where icing isn't present. I don't think you did anything wrong, just the modelling has been lacking there for a long time.

I refuse to believe that everyone flying anton loses all their instruments on each flight and i'm the first to ask about it.... there must be a better explanation.

I haven't had it happen in the Anton, but I have had it happen in the Spit a long time ago.

One thing I noticed in the Anton is that the probe heat lamp on the left of the dash only ever illuminates when connected to ground power. I haven't tried an engine start with ground power on, but I wonder if that could activate the probe heat and serve as a workaround.

it's been fixed 4-5 months ago, now it illuminates without ground power, in flight, on battery, etc.

However, the pitot heating itself does not work in any ww2 model per my understanding.

Strange, last few flights I've done the light never illuminated. I had all CBs in.

it definitely works (7th switch), it lights up the yellow bars when it's on.

I was also on 4ya and following a very steep dive the instruments froze (the altimeter and airspeed indicator). I turned on the two circuit breakers below the cockpit UV and formation lights (CBs 6 and 7 from the front) and they regained operation. I thought icing but it could be random failures (I have mine set to on and enforced)

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Your local settings will make no difference on 4YA Project Overlord, our mission file enforces random failures off. Multiplayer server settings override local client settings, otherwise you'd have external views available.

Pitot heating is a warbird-wide bug. We need to collect easily reproduced track files under test conditions so ED devs can hunt for the underlying cause. As far as I know it's modelled but incorrectly - there is heating but it won't overcome cold weather conditions in the sim.

thanks for the correction. That I did not know. I am down for testing this bug as its affecting my favorite fw190a8 and causing me to lose interest.
