Have option to Use "clean" MFD's

I love the Strike Eagle and am thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail however there is an issue with some of this detail not accounting for the fact that we are in a computer sim. The MFD's all have smudges on them which really shine when hit by direct sunlight which is low on the horizon. This heavily obscures the MFD's and renders them unreadable. In real life, I assume the pilot/WSO would shield the display with their hand when they need to read the display under such circumstances. We obviously can't do this in the sim. Can there be an option for fully clean MFD's? As an added bonus, adding an option to make them even brighter would be great. In these specific lighting situations, the glare from the sun hitting the glass renders the display almost completely unreadable. No hand to shield the display = unreadable display in the sim. I guess the option could be enable / disable glass cover graphic for MFD's?

I only fly VR so I can only speak of my experiences there but I assume this is an issue for others on flat screen. I THINK that people who export to external MFD frames don't have this visibility issue at all and can read them clearly but I base that upon what someone else mentioned on discord.

Turning away from the sun etc. have been suggested by people who I guess like this feature. Sometimes it's not feasible to do so. Also, if it's a toggle option, people can leave it on and others can turn it off (much like we can do with the pilot body)

Thank you again for this great module and for taking time to read this.

I'd also add that turning away from the sun isn't really an immediate option for the WSO 🙂

Another option that might be worth considering in general is attaching a lighting shade to the mouse cursor.

That is true. I export the MFDs to three separate monitors and the only thing that is shown is the image of each respective screen.

Exporting has its downfalls too. Yes, of course it’s just the raw data from the viewports so no smudges or anything, but DCS exports are inherently much dimmer than the in-cockpit counterpart. Especially in night lighting mode, in the f-15 they  pretty much disappear completely ( this is on ED’s side not RB’s though), however that can be circumvented using reshade UIMask to add filters to them and significantly increase the brightness of them.

I’ve been using exported displays for a long time, however I do agree that a lot of modules are a bit overkill on things like fingerprints on displays and scratches on canopies. It would be nice if those things were dialed back a bit.

This suggestion as a UNIVERSAL thing for all modules would be absolutely wonderful. A+ suggestion.

I totally agree, and it has been asked for in so many threads that I don't really see the issue of implementing this. Except for the extra work, and that some users and a boss claims "it's realistic" which is not true. Looking through the windshields of my cars ain't different from an airplane's.
Cheers!

For heaven's sake... Yes. Please.

I'd be okay with a little "dirt", not this. The MFD looks like no-one cleaned them in years.

Give us an option if must be, but I'm sure a "real" aircraft would have cleaner screens than this. I mean if a flock of birds <profanity>s on the pilot's canopy, I don't expect the ground crew would be like "Eh, just take off that way, it'll be fine."

oh please do not remove the current one, many people still prefer the dirty ones.

Let them make an option. It should be easier to create a clean(er) screen than a dirty one.
