Well, since the AB9 is now a MFSSB base, once I have loaded the Viper preset, it stays and I am happy. I don't have to use the Moza software until I want to.

Is the Rhino base software better? In some way, yes, but it still has bugs, even in calibration. It is understandable it is still in beta.

I found one for the F-18 that was done by an F-18 pilot that I really enjoy.

Link, please?

What is an ‘MFSSB Base’? What’s the difference vs what I assume was just called a FFB base? Also - with the MH16 stick do all the hats have a button depress as well as the directions or are they the same as the warthog stick which doesn’t have depress other than CMS?

I assume @VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants just means he's using his Moza as a "virtual" side mounted force sensing stick. (Force sensing has nothing to do with force feedback back at all). Now, this might work well, never tried that. Because you basically lose all of the resolution of the stick itself, as you basically don't move it at all.

Winwing calls one of their bases MFSSB, which can use cams and springs, or force sensing sensors. I guess the abbreviation came from there which leads to the confusion, because if I Google MFSSB, the only hits I get are regarding the Winwing base. 😉

Cheers!

Off-topic: There is another one and calls itself FSSB:
https://realsimulator.com/fssb-r3-ultra/
If I recall correctly, this base was available way before WinWing.
Not really off topic as the question was asked and quite a few users mix up the two technologies.
Apologies if you were under the impression I had a dig at you. Not my intention at all.
RealSimulator was like 10+ years ahead of Winwing, and I don't think you can compare the two different bases at all. Even so MFSSB≠FSSB, and I'm pretty sure Winwing stole the abbreviation. It probably means something like Force Sensing Side B(?). And I was just trying to specify that Force Sensing and Force Feedback has nothing to do with each other, as they in a sense are physically the opposite of each other.
In the the real F-16, I think it's actually called Side Stick Controller or something.
Cheers!

With extension, the Moza AB9 FFB is rather weak. But still miles ahead of my VKB Gunfighter due to the additional feedback and adjustability in software so for that reason, i would still consider it an upgrade.

Bear in mind, with stronger FFB, it would also demand a similarly sturdy mounting solution.

Got that right, my stick is bolted to an mdf board my chair is sitting on the back half of and it still flexes under even half load (FFBeast)

Hi all! The joystick on ab9 is no longer detected, at first it is activated, then it falls off, now it is not detected at all. I tried reinstalling the joystick and resetting the database and reinstalling updates, and installed different joysticks, the original and thrustmaster did not help, half a month has passed since the purchase. Has anyone encountered this problem and is there another solution?

Just a thought as I had a similar problem and it turned out the usb connector had wiggled loose 🤷‍♂️

@avgyst, when i initially received my AB9 it would randomly either fail to connect at power on (button) or disconnect some short time later (usually between missions). It had outdated firmware from Sept 2024 (1.1.1.26) but Moza Cockpit would repeatedly fail at attempts to update the AB9 firmware to the latest as of Jan 2025 (1.1.1.32) until the AB9 was removed from Windows device manager and the driver reinstalled.

Question: I find that the trim on Ka-50 stopped working, i.e., the stick does not hold it place and return to centre. I use "Instant Trim". Is there any setting in the preset which may help?  Thank you in advanced.

Me too...

KA-50 Trim is not working with MOZA AB9.
Solution would be very important...

# MOZA Cockpit **1.0.4.17** (Planned: 2025/03/13)
## Software
- Added support for new devices.
- Added telemetry force feedback support for IL-2 GB.
- Added version management for DCS scripts, X-Plane plugins, and MSFS telemetry processes. **If the Cockpit software prompts a configuration error, please reinstall the DCS scripts.**
- Added breakout force simulation, allowing users to achieve more precise stick centering through this special centering algorithm. **Please do note that this feature is still experimental.**
- Added an advanced physics model option, enabling independent four-direction control of spring, damping, inertia, and friction. **Note: Since some fields have been adjusted in the release version, users who have modified the physics model and saved presets in the 1.0.4 beta version may need to reload their presets, make adjustments, and save them again.**
- Fixed an issue where the newly saved preset was not immediately loaded after saving it as a new preset.
- Fixed some of the stability issues.

According to the Discord the update is planned for tomorrow, so we probably need a little more patience.

No mention of a fix for Virpil Alpha "ghost" button presses.

I believe that someone tested the Beta of 1.1.1.36 and was still getting Ghost presses, at least that was the comment on their Discord.

Moza just announced new products. A throttle and panel for flight simming. And a new force feedback yoke.

They also introduced a shifter-mode for the AB9 base, so that adds a lot of value to those who do both flight and race simming. Then you can use the same base for both.

@NineLine @BIGNEWY Please made a separate section for Moza. We already see a lot of Moza-topics littering the hardware-forum, and it will only get worse with the new hardware.

I don't know, guys, I've tried everything, the joystick is still not detected. Moza support didn't help at all. I vowed after pimax not to buy anything Chinese, here is the result. I will wait for ffb from virpil.
