In order to keep the image proportioned, may I suggest a template that is 4000x840 and center the user's image. These files may help in creating a custom server banner. Note: a blank PNG file is between this line and the XCF file.

There were some cases were folks bought the FC3 on Steam so they had to bind the Steam account again to their standalone DCS.

Another case might be to check your AV software for potentially quarantined module files.

I'm a little confused by this. FC3 is still a thing on my install and there is no way of installing the individual planes.

You're saying you have working FC3 module (as a pack) in 2.9.6? Steam or standaolne DCS?

No, sorry. I'm just beginning to realise that the whole thing is a mess after reading other threads.

No, I wasn't saying I had a working FC3, I have it available as a download option and it is still on the list of available modules in Module Manager.

However, if I install FC3, I just get authorisation errors.

Since I posted, BN has advised to contact support.

We all have FC3 on the list, but impossible to install - this is known bug. But most of us have installed standalone aircraft from FC3 instead, fully working. If you don't - contact support. It's either license problem, Steam account not bound, AV problem or anything else but with so vague info we cannot guess.

Thanks for that. What do you mean by 'vague'?  Response from ED?

In my case, I am on standalone, I am able to install FC3 but only get authorisation errors after that.  I then uninstall each module, get the FC3 prompt back and we're in a loop.

BN suggested installing Su-33 (which is also on the list after uninstalling FC3) and everything would be good with all modules available after that.  That doesn't work for me.

I uninstall the 5 individual modules as they are the only thing available re FC3.

Like everything DCS, I bought from ED store.

Yes, AV checked.

Then don't. This is how it works now. No FC3 pack, just individual standalone FC3 aircraft modules.

If you get the authorisation error again, restart PC, make sure you run DCS MT, also try to run without the launcher.

Sure, I get that it works that way for some, but not me.  If FC3 is not installed, then the modules are not there.  If I install FC3, then they are there but with authorisation issues.

FC3 is still available as download and install to me, but individaul modules are not.  Example in attached.

FC3 is showing but it should be ignored. It will be removed. 

All of your aircraft from FC3 now have individual licences and should be installed individually. 

If you purchased on steam but link to stand alone please hit the get licences button on the steam link on your account page on our website.

Thanks BN, I said above that you had recommended I contact support in another thread and that is what I will do.

If I ignore FC3 install prompts then no individual modules show.  (Unless I am looking in the wrong place.)  It is only when I install FC3 that the modules show.

And the Tobii bug.  Sorry, to keep asking, but is it ED or Tobii who are responsible for fixing this issue, i.e. Tobii doesn't work with the new DCS launcher.

team are aware but it seems to be because the launcher and DCS both use the DCS.EXE so when the launcher starts Tobii thinks dcs has started and when DCS actually starts it does not switch to it. 

Work around is to disable the launcher for now, which you can do on the launcher on the right, and you can reenable it in the MISC settings in DCS

Thanks, yes, that's what we have to do which is OK atm, but I believe ED are going to further develop the launcher, so I guess it will become more significant.

I assume from what you said, that it is for ED to fix?  Separate launcher?  Unusual for launchers to be the same exe.

Well-known modder Currenthill writes that with each update more and more game resources are closed for viewing and editing. Allegedly, weapon schemes were now closed.
Is this a general policy to oust modders with their products, or do other circumstances require it?

Can you clarify the company's policy regarding gaming resources and what will happen to this in the future?

Looks like I was wrong.  Looking back 8 years(!), I did purchase FC3 on Steam and I've resolved the issue by getting the licences in my ED store profile.

So, all good now!

More of my issues with the current patch have gotten slightly better after completely uninstalling (which, by the way also didn't really work well...) and reinstalling DCS. Now the launcher repair does, well, something again, and some of the worst (and most confusing) performance losses seem to have been alleviated slightly. I might make another post with further insights once I've done some actual flying.
