I've come across some new strange behavior when it comes to ground unit radars, and I think it's all across the field. When a SAM system and its radar are facing a certain number of incoming threats (missiles or aircraft) it will either not launch or launch a lot of missiles which then detonates after launch, the behavior becomes very irrational and obvious faulty.

But, if you reduce the incoming threat number to just one threat below the threshold value the SAM will work just as intended.

I've checked several in game systems like the Patriot and S300 (as well as my own assets of course). The same behavior. The only thing that differs are the threshold number of max incoming threats it can handle. And I can't seem to figure out what is controlling that. You might think it's the amount of radar channels, but that's not the case.

I have two very clean mission files with a Patriot system and incoming targets. The first one with the max amount of threats to function perfect, and the other one with just one more threat and it stops working completely.

This seem to be some sort of core game mechanics not working as intended as the issue can be spotted in more or less every SAM system with a radar. The difference is that the behavior can be more or less irrational depending on the units configuration.

Edit: I should mention that the issue only seem to affect weapons guided by the launching asset (like SARH, TVC or laser guided) it doesn't seem to affect ARH based weapons.

Pretty much newbie to DCS here, so idk if this is the same bug, but it seems like naval vessels are affected aswell.

It seems like stock DCS ships aswell as modded assets are affected.

I built a little Mission with 4 EB 2s facing off against some incoming russian cruise missiles.

The SM6 Block 1 long range missiles launch as expected.

When the cruise missiles come to close, the SM2-MR IIIA/C launch, instantly start spinning and just crash into the water.

Same goes for your assets @currenthill, with your two EBs and the Sea Ceptor on the Type 45.

Greetings.

Dear currenthill, thank you very much for your modules. I have been using them for several months. But in recent days, I have a little problem when I download your US and Chinese modules on a new computer. Specifically, some anti-aircraft missiles are twisting and turning like they have drunk fake wine. When I use Chinese modules, the HHQ16 of 054b and the HHQ9B of 055 usually twist and turn several circles before launching. But at least they can still be launched. When I use US modules. The ESSM and Standard 2 of Arleigh Burke 2a and Arleigh Burke 3 usually turn several circles and then fall to the sea. They may even hit themselves and the warships next to them. SM3 and SM6 do not have this problem. I don't know what the problem is. I use the Chinese version 1.1.2 and the US version 1.1.3. I tried to download the data from the previous computer, but the result is still the same. I hope you can solve this problem as soon as possible. Thank you again for bringing us fun modules.

Sorry guys, I'll be away from my PC for the next three weeks. In the meantime, feel free to ping BIGNEWY or NineLine (they might take some holiday as well,  I don't know).
