Several performance issues after the latest update:

1. FPS is generally very good, but randomly will completely tank anywhere from low 50s to around 8fps. Alt-Tabbing out of DCS and back in seems to help most times but generally when these random drops happen, DCS is unplayable.

2. Any mouse movement causes intense stutter while the mouse is moving.

Devs are working on a way to fix this. In the meantime, lower your mouse polling rate below 1000 Hz.

experiencing also a noticeable loss of performance since last hotfix (2.9.6.58056).

Disabling Tacview, reducing mouse polling rate to 500dpi as suggested & ALT+tab once in a while restores some of the performance loss but still not the same level as pre-patch

Getting massive stutters too. Changing mouse poll rate does nothing. I'm not running VR.

Edit. I think I may have solved mine by a clean install of video card drivers and turning Windows dynamic monitor refresh to off. Not sure which one did the trick.

Still using a MAD CATZ RAT 7 mouse with no software support for windows 10 because its old. So I have no way to change the mouse Hz polyrate.

ED, its 2024, should be an easy fix on your end that still hasn't happened yet. Because I would really like to keep using my mouse from 2010 😅

My corsair mouse polling was at 1000dpi and I was getting the stutters while using menus and the mouse in game.  Lowering to 500dpi in the iCUE software seems to have alleviated the issue, but it was something new after the last patch.  Prior to that everything at 1000dpi had been fine.

Thanks for pointing this out. Polling rate is not DPI. I had missed that. I lowered it in game to 500hz but on my system that made no difference.. I guess the effect I saw before was either the ALT+TAB or placebo

@Snakedoc For me worked, most mouses will not have this option on the software, I guess is optional only for the not cheap, gamers mouses, anyway, but I downloaded the universal software and was really quick and easy to downclock my mouse, shame that doesn't worked for you, did you tested in you really did the downclock to 500hz? In this link that I posted there is a link to a website where you can test it right away, good luck, and I hope that I wasn't the first to post the solution, I hope it is also in another topic by ED, or else, shame on them, is a simple thing to fix at least from our end.

yeah I changed it in the Razer Synapse software under performance settings but no noticeable change in game. The biggest difference (for my system) was deactivating Tacview export (that I had done separetly before even my first post on this topic). Thanks anyway for the good tip! Learned something new 🙂

Wow I can’t say I noticed this before with other modules but it was really severe in the Apache/Syria just now. Switching the mouse to 500 fixed the problem.

Played DCS few days ago without any problems in VR and today this thing appeared.
I dont use any G-Hub-Software (Logitech G502 Hero) and never had this issue.
Beeing in cockpit and moving mouse drops fps massively.
Didnt changed anything so i assume its not on my side.
Would be good to fix that coz as we can see i am not the only one.....

And my hardware is far away to be blamed for that.
Zero issues in other games.
Last 1-2 updates seems to popped up that issue.

NO DCS MODS IN USE

seems to be causing bad screen tearing even when the mouse is not being used/moved, just rolling the aircraft while looking out of the cockpit a bit is enough to tear my screen, and no ED it's not my machine, It wasn't happening before the latest patch, and its not happening in any other game, the only way I could minimise it was to unlimit my frames from 60 to 300 as well as various tips and tricks listed above, it's still doing it, especially when I move the mouse BUT substantially less than it was

other games tested for tearing, SCUM, Ready Or Not, Uboat, Flight Simulator, arma 3, arma reforger and hitman, none of these games exhibited any tearing, I wanted to make sure it wasn't my machine before I posted here, as stated above I was able to minimise but not eliminate the tearing, I've tried my best to isolate it but have been unable to

today i disabled HAGS and boom - nearly no stutters, constant fps. But the damn thing is, i need hags for frame genration in a few games...

edit: Tested it for hours - it's HAGS - turned off and got no problems even during mouse movement. Turned it on - stutters

no luck for me, my HAGS has been off since the last round of performance issues in a DCS update

Do you have Quadviews installed?  Try this: uninstall quadviews, install openXR toolkit, enable Safe Mode in openXR toolkit, launch DCS in VR.  Open the OpenXR Toolkit menu, and select System/Restore Defaults, Confirm, and exit the menu.  Go flying.

you're welcome! Iam happy that it's not only working for me. After deactivating hags nearly all other games on my pc are runnin a lot better. Only thing is that for example a flight sim needs Frame generation to run smooth.

I've recently been seeing huge frame drops whenever panning in external views with the mouse, or moving the mouse and moving my head (TrackIR) at the same time. Lowering my mouse polling frequency from 1000 to 500Hz in iCUE seems to have fixed the stuttering. Glad I found this thread 🙂
