Bumping up an old thread, this made me laugh out loud :D

 

Whilst playing the modded online version of GTA San Andreas, i had the opportunity to change the look of my character, so i chose the Chemtrail Warrior :lol:

This is as bad as believing that CO2 emissions are causing global warming catastrophe.

 

Its more complex than that, people tend to over-simplify things, but the mindset that its not doing nothing just because volcanos and other natural disasters cause more damage in the shorter term, is even worse.

 

Oh, and for those of you that think CO2 emissions are causing global warming, heres a piece of information straight from the periodical table of elements: the half life of CO2 is 8.2 minutes.

How is it funny? when a molecule is stripped of its electrons it becomes a different substance, and when it bonds with another substance it becomes a different compound. decaying matter is matter transforming into a lesser compound with a smaller foot print. uranium decays into lead. how does physics dictate a molecules half life? it all decays at the same rate it all only matters how many electrons that molecule has. the less it has the faster it decays.

And BTW, molecular decomposition is achieved through the means of energetic activation. The molecule should stay stable otherwise for billions of years. :)

Actually having a heavier nucleus usually means a shorter half-life ... usually... ;)

 

The lifecycle of CO2 within the environment - not the nuclear half-life not chemical properties of it, is estimated at around 38 years.

 

If the nuclear half-life was 8min, you'd be glowing in the dark.

Ill admit im Not into chemistry, but i do understand a few things. for instance: you Dont see air pollution in the country, just in the cities. prevailing winds Dont carry smog too far. CO2 lives so long in normal environments providing nothing consumes it. what im getting at is that you only see greenhouse gases over populated areas and its always localized. its warm in the cities nowadays? its always warm in death valley, they Dont blame it on greenhouse gases. if CO2 is as persistent as you people believe, this planet would have been a big stinking ball of Shit for over a century, Not for the last 10-15 years. i Dont buy it.

A little animation of a airplane. We follow it how it stays at a specific alt. bit see how the layers of the atmosphere change due to the weather.

Nope...quantum mechanics say otherwise. The notion that half life can be analogous to the chemical phenomenae is way wrong.

 

A stable molecule will stay the same untill something from the exterior, massive amounts of energy decomposes back to its elements or a catalyst triggers reagents to form other molecule(s).

 

So you know, Co2 exist on stars, so they can stay stable in hugely energetic neviroments, and so it does in space and planets alike. Its doesnt break apart spontanously by itself. This is a ludricous missconception.

Ehm, CO2 is colorless, you cannot see it (if you could, you would see your own breath). CO2 doesn't break naturaly over time, it's a stable molecule.

This is wrong. CO2, or any other molecule for that matter, will be destroyed and ionized in almost any stellar atmosphere. Only in very cool stars will you find molecules, TiO for example. Generally the temperatures are too high (1000's of K) for molecules to exist.
