iceden Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Hello fellow av-nuts. Anyone know where and what value(s) to use to crank up night lighting? Seems all the cities and vehicles are on strict blackout orders. I did find this in graphic.cfg, line 146; LightsLevel = 1; I changed it from a 0 to a 1, but see no effect...do I need to adjust the night time distance/LOD? I know its a hit to the gfx but...I like eye candy. Or, is the light level at max now and we need some user generated bitmaps?

shemi Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Thx Shemi, very kind sir. Thats what Im looking for!!! Glad to hear that! :) Does this works with BS?? I never try with Black Shark :( Maybe :) [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] =2ИАЕ=
CooperHawkes Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Looks like it works with BlackShark. I had no problems to install it via ModMan, but i experienced some flickering on one building, where it seems like the engine tries to switch between an old texture and the new one. But happened only from a particular angle and after i changed the POV i couldnt reproduce it. Some screenies (1st one without mod, 2nd and 3rd with mod): 1 take me out to the black, tell 'em i ain't coming back, i don't care, i'm still free, you can't take the sky from me. ...still waiting for the day when the military recruits their dronepilots out of a group of flightsimgamers...

Hawg11 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Hi Jason, now that ED made the terrain tools available, it would be relatively easy for anyone with 3D Max to place in lights like that into any map. 1 Dave "Hawg11" St. Jean
Mustang Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Yes! those city lights look awesome! Now, if we could get that effect with aircraft too, nav lights and such, not as powerful as that, but enhanced, so we could see them from further away :)
sinelnic Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 not yet, those shots are an early version of what we hope to accomplish for the Nellis terrain in DCS A-10 Aaaahhhhh!!! if you see the DCS Wishlist, there´s exactly this from me there! Could you expand a little on what you´re trying to do? adding "true" lights to cities? roads?
