I use them in the mi8 all the time. 
I mapped a hat switch to yaw and pitch channels so I can make fine tuning during auto pilot flights and even precise landings. It is so useful for my ffb stick

Yes I love them in Mi-8. It’s just since trim button resets/centers AP channels in Mi-24, I see no point for knobs except for messing with small changes. 

Hopefully I can get a button box with a few knobs for them

Mapping the start sequence to controllers speeds up the start remarkably, especially if you have a lot of aircraft.

I have to interrupt the sequence a few times due to certain switches that are not available for binding and then have to use the mouse.

Please create bindings for the following:

Converter 115V Cover

Converter 36V Cover

L Fuel Shut-off Cover

R Fuel Shut-off Cover

Fire Extinguisher Control

Fire Extinguisher Power

Fan

Gyro 1 & 2

Radio Altimeter RV-5 Power

Gear Lights Cover

One binding that is missing is fuel cut up and down.

Currently there's only toggle switch and I am using physical levers for these and there's no way to configure them like for example in ka-50 or in many planes.

In the options you'll find it as Launch Countermeasures (left side panel). By default it seems to be assigned to insert/delete.

If this Doesn't work for you, it may be because you are flying multi crew. In reality, Pilot button only launches flares from cartridge 1. Only CPG can launch flares from all 3 cartridges. 
 

With Petrovich, it is programmed that if you press button and cartridge 1 is empty, Petro automatically hits cartridge 2 or 3. 
 

When I have real CPG, I try to tell to switch to cartridge 2, that way only pilot uses cartridge 1.

I don't know what you're talking about. What cartridges, what switching?
HappyVoo asked, if I understood correctly, to add the use of ASO from the pilot's cockpit. I was looking for this myself once, because it's not clearly named in the settings. Now I have no problem with it. I start the helicopter and use it when I need it. The only thing I ask Petrovitch to do is set the sequence or set from which side the ASO should shoot.

Why complicate things.

ps. One more small detail, ASO-2W is started electrically, 27V.

Yes, it’s started electrically, but that doesn’t change that pilot button is only wired to one of three cartridges/dispensers. 
 

There are 3 ASO-2V cartridges on each side. And on the ASO-2V panel in CPG seat, there is a 3 way selector to choose what cartridge is used by CPG

I am not trying to complicate things. I am only saying that if someone tried the bind, and it didnt work, this is a reason . That in multi crew it’s simulated that pilot can only control 1 of the 3 dispensers/cartridges on each side, you use up first cartridge, and pilot flare button will do nothing after that.

Ok. I didn't understand your statement in the previous post. The translation is faulty. English is not my language.

It translated cartridge as "nabój" (ammunition), not a "kaseta z flarami" cartridge (flare cassette).
