If i want avoid dlss swapper and do it manually, i need 1) the newest dlls and 2) do i need to alter the customnames.xml file to introduce the k preset?

 

Edit, the newest nvpi is necessary. Preset K looks awesome and runs better than Preset J for me.

DCS never looked and ran better.

Thanks for this. I'll give it a go. If i want to verify K is being used how can i check without DLSSTweaks?

I works for me now, but I think Devs should make a small update to DCS that implements the new DLSS so that you do not have to manually copy DLLs and so on.

Goto HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore and right-click on the right-hand panel and create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value called ShowDlssIndicator. Set the value of this to 1024 in decimal. Beware I did notice the structure had changed when I did a fresh Nvidia, but it NGXCore is there this will work.

OK so i am using DLSS 310.2.1.0 and have tried both profile J and K.... 

J works better for me... pretty solid 90FPS in VR. 

K profile, 50-60FPS.

 

However,  why does 310.2.1.0 say im using DLSS V3... thought Nvidia update enabled DLSSV4?

In the newest NVPI it looks like

<CustomSettingValue>

<UserfriendlyName>Preset K (v310+)</UserfriendlyName>

<HexValue>0x0000000B</HexValue>

 

but the best option is to download it with nvpi amd select it there.

@jurinko is it the Override DLSS_SR Preset that should be changed and if so, is it 0x0000000B we change to or one of the other presets from the drop down list?

Has anyone tried using setting K on a Quest headset using the link Cable? When I do this it forces my headset to 72hz

I tried DLSS 4 preset K on my crystal. I’m still getting frame drops out of nowhere, starting to think it’s CPU limitation. Instant action F14A Caucasus case I recovery with super carrier. Getting 72 FPS that starts fluctuating to 50 closer to the boat. Maybe I should try preset J

Here it looks like this: you need the nvpi 2423 and select it here.

how's the K preset with spotting when used with DLSS Quality? Is it squashing the dots like J?

As a rather stupid person, I am not sure I can change the DLSS profile. I am running the DLSS 310.2.1 using DLSS-Swapper, with the latest release NVIDIA driver, running DLSS Quality with 0.5 sharpening. On F/A-18C, the texts on the MFD are now more acceptable. However, the other planes become a comet, with huge trail.

So, how could I change the profile? If anyone could be help, please type a simple guide pinned on the top. Thank you.

And the NVIDIA Inspector 2.4.2.3 simply crashes on load.

- unpack NV-Profile-Inspector-Revamped

- run the .exe in it

- in the application top "profiles" search for "digital combat... ", make sure you find digital combat simulator in the profiles list and click on it

- Scroll down to section 5, and select profile J per screenshot below:

Now that I finally got rid of all CTDs and headset freezes I can fully appreciate DLSS4. It's how I hoped it would be when it was first introduced to DCS. I'm impressed.

It also works with 4090 too. I read the VR Flight Sim Guy that DLSS 4 works all the way from 20 series.
