Can anyone from Heatblur confirm the plan is still to continue making the Phantom family after the Echo variant?  I was wondering if plans have already been made for the next variant and if so, will the Bravo model (Navy carrier based) be considered first?

You gents have spoiled me with the level of detail in the Echo and I cannot in good conscience go back to the VSN F-4 for the Navy.  I know your hands are full with the Eurofighter and Intruder (I want the A-6 before anything) but can you comment?

Yes, the NAVY Phantom is very much planned and we're beginning prep-work 🙂

You gents made my day!!!!!! One more hopeful answer to a long-lost question.  Has ED been working with you guys to bring your carrier up to par with the super carrier? Or is the deck crew at least planned for your carrier?  The boys and I are looking to use the older carrier for our Vietnam mission.  Can't wait for the AI Intruder hopefully this year.  Take a look below to see where she will be operating off of.  This was a recent flight in the A-4.

Great news! I am really hoping for either the J or S. Both of them are refined models. Hopefully, even if most parts of it were experimental, I do hope they do add the gun pods since air to air missiles at those era were finicky and it really does expand the options on air to air and air to ground. The USMC really use the pods from strafing runs.

Why not both? 🙂 It'll probably be a full module, and HB has a good record of including multiple variants. So maybe we'll get both, especially since S is an improved J.

I hope for a J or an S.  If it's going to be a single flight model module, I'd expect that it would be a J as it covers a really wide timeframe with several distinct variants from the first lead-nose birds through to the Super J and the pre-slat J/S.  Not to mention the J (UK) variant.

USN Phantoms are all completely different from the E. They diverged quite early, B and C were the last ones to be reasonably similar. Both J and S had different engines, different radar, and very different avionics. The S is the closest version to the E that we have, but even its slatted wing was not identical to the E. I suspect we'll get both J and S, they were the most common, and the differences between them aren't very big.

I recall them talking about slat wings way back. So yes probably J or S.

Its up in the air. This isnt a secret we are somehow trying to hide from you. The module is so far in the future that there was no reason to decide and commit on this yet. Sometimes things just are that simple 🙂

No one is accusing you of keeping a secret, it's all chill here! We are all super excited to hear that the NAVY Phantom is still planned and that you have begun prep work 🚀
