ED Team NineLine Posted February 18 ED Team Posted February 18 From the Check SIx Discord: Dear DCS Community, It is with a heavy heart that we at Check Six Simulations regret to inform you that we have made the extremely difficult decision to cease development of all DCS products effective immediately and close down the business. This is a result of solely internal matters within Check Six. We would like to take the chance to thank the community and ED, for all the ongoing support and feedback throughout our development. We wish the very best for the DCS community moving forward, onwards and upwards. Thank you Check Six Management 9 1 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Mike Force Team Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Sorry to hear that Check 6 decided to cease business with ED. Prior to this announcement, we rarely heard from the developers regarding updates on the Top of Australia map as well as some full-fidelty modules. Mike Force Team 2

Mike Force Team Posted February 19 Posted February 19 When I read the plans for the Top of Australia map, I was confused. I didn't understand how this map would be used since it was not close to any major countries. It looked like another sand map, which DCS already has several of. I looked forward to the plane but not sure if it would be popular. 1
ghashpl Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Sad to hear - I was waiting for new tanker and AWACS I would like to see more assets in DCS (especially new'ish) 2 https://msielski.com
gulredrel Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Indeed sad, was looking forward to the first official turbo prop (trainer). 4

It was supposed to be optional paid 3rd party DLC that you were not forced to support and neither ED was distracted from any of their job. Pity to hear Check 6 Sims go and the assets there were planned to come for DCS. 2 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Vakarian Posted February 19 Posted February 19 This is sad news to me. I was really looking forward to the PC-9. Oh well, at least they tried. 2
applejack_UA Posted February 19 Posted February 19 how much work and dedication many people put into their projects and give up without receiving feedback... probably you need to create a product that will be interesting to a large number of people. you probably need to do some marketing research before getting involved in creating a mod 1 https://boosty.to/folland_oscar
Dragon1-1 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 (edited) It was an interesting project, but I guess at some point things get too niche even for DCS. Does "close down the business" mean the whole studio is out of action? Maybe they can come back someday (either as a studio or as individual devs), perhaps when ED has made the full world map, which could perhaps allow a smaller scale development model, sort of like selling individual airports for civilian sims works. Mike Force Team Posted February 19 Posted February 19 @draconus I was hoping for the prop plane trainer they were working on to be completed and made available to us. Unfortunately, the developers called it quits. Perhaps they did not have the motivation to make it happen or people quit the team. Working on the coding, troubleshooting, and more consumes considerable time. It is not clear if ED was in a support role, though. Will Check Six Simulation make their coding, prototyping, and other information available to other software developers? For the right price, I am certain HB or another developer can pick up where Check Six stopped. Mike Force Team 1

Weasel Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Really sad news. Every new developement company is a chance for DCS and the community. I wish you all the best guys. What happens with the Australia map? Will it be developed by another 3rd party or even by ED itself? Was looking forward to this map and It would be a shame if this map won’t be developed to completion (at least for me ) Edited February 23 by Weasel 3
