Really great to see this map added to DCS. Huge download size: ColdWar Germany-205 GB  Caucasus -16.6 GB I just transferred DCS to a new 1TB SSD....but I knew at the time that I shouldve gone for more storage,lol.

Iraq is as big now as phase 1 of Germany is (110GB) and similarly a WIP. Kola is also about the same storage footprint.

Thanks for nothing ED. I've got my "Order completed" E-Mail one hour ago, but no chance to download the Germany Scenerey anywhere. Not from the DCS launcher, that only lets me download the outdated "Channel Map" scenery, and not in the Game's Module's section from the main menu. I wanted to download overnight, to play a little bit on the holiday tomorrow, but no chance.

Give the command line a shot: "DCS_updater.exe install GERMANYCW_terrain".  That executable can be found in the DCS "bin" dir.

Because I have no opportunity to download and try for the next at least weeks because I need a new performant PC and still saving the money for it, but I am surely one of the guys who are whishing this most for more than 25 years and stated this in the forum 1000 times (yes, UGRA and ED, you heared us. . . THANK YOU SOOO MUCH for this dream became true!!! . . . can somebody please post pictures of soviet airbases, Damgarten, Merseburg, Zerbst, Werneuchen etc. . . please with detail of shelters, radar installations and ground equipment etc. . . the more the better. Thanks a lot, can´t wait to see any pictures.

I just spent an hour flying around Berlin and Hamburg. Hats off to Ugra. They did a great job. The detail is outstanding, beautiful map. Maybe needs a bit of optimization for us helo pilots down low but really, I can't complain much. Can't wait for the rest to get released. Again, awesome job!

If someone who has downloaded it would please make a youtube vid flying between Fulda and Alsfeld and Lauterbach, I would be forever grateful!  Especially if it was a helo flight!

Tested during an half hour , on my PC( rysen 7500 ,32 gig ram,rtx4070) it runs perfectly with every graphic option to the max and 1440 p :really grat job and fun hours for us in perspective !!!

Neither can I: the lowest fps I saw was 35, while flying low over Berlin.

Can it be improved? Sure, probably but it’s launch day and remember Marianas when it first released? South Atlantic? Or even Normandy 1944? Those were nauseating slideshows down low. Even Syria had bad performance for a good while.

Ugra clearly did well on the optimisation front thus far

Really impressed. Did an Apache joyride around Berlin first up, then a blast over the same in the Hornet. I then jumped in the Hornet again and did a north-south run along the Inner German border from the Baltic before turning east to land at Berlin.  Never once did it feel like it was struggling.

Back from my first flight. Awesome. Just did a tour from Peenemünde, norther east Germany around Rügen and back in evening lighting conditions. Need to fly down low in Mi-8 but the villages and cities looked awesome.

Hey guys, and Ugra team, please check out my review of the Cold War Germany Map. Overall hats off to those that have worked on this project. It's the best map to have been created for DCS IMHO and is a breath of fresh air compared to the constant stream of "Early Access" maps that are coming in like hot cakes but are so patchy and unfinished. Can't wait for further expansions and whatever improvements may be on the way. Truly a new staple for DCS maps.

My only remarks would be - it's a real shame to not have any road bases modeled. Perhaps something that could come in the future? I didn't mention this in the video but it would be a great addition. And I agree with some of the earlier comments regarding the dry sandy patches around bases and airports runways and taxiways - sometimes it looks a bit overdone.
