i realy want new red 4th generation aircraft. after all we have several for 60-70, but for 80-90 one mig29 is being prepared for relese and this is oldest, first modification of this aircraft.

and no mater how u look at it, it will be oposed to blue modules of far from first modifications. yes, i want both su25 and mig23/27, but su27 as it seems to me is needed for mig29.

This all is repeated ad nauseam but if you want to hear it once again, here you are: We're getting MiG-29 9.12 (A) for now. That's what is currently possible. When we get it and it turns out big success the other modern redfor aircraft may follow... or not. What it is opposed to depends on the mission creator but IRL they would face F-14A/B, F-15A/C, F-16A/C, F/A-18A/C, M-2000C, F-4E and many other western fighters in the 80s.

Sorry, Dangerzone, I did misphrase it a little. Yes, just because with the surprising release (for me...) of CW Germany I did contemplate the buy of the Razbam Harrier, but it was too late.

I have to add today that I wouldn't have bought it anyway because of the missing british variant. I have to clarify that I own many Razbam products for my P3D sim. There, the Harrier comes in the british GR7 version also. Regarding this, I did assume the DCS Razbam comes with this variant too.

A F-35 will not match with the Cold War era, so unfortunately I will have to wait for a proper british Harrier solution.

Not sure why denissoliveira and his fantastic mod doesn't get more attention,

AV-8B Harrier variant pack (FRS1, FRS2, GR7/9 and Plus+) version 1.0

I think he done a tremendous job, really clever work and I really appreciate his efforts.

I don't fly in his FRS1 or FRS2 mods but they look great as static. I feel like not having a radar with our harrier is just too dissimilar to the real versions.

His GR9 nose mod however I fly with all the time. Cockpit wise the AV8 NA and GR7/9 were very similar. Admittedly I had to make adjustments to his mod to get the colour of the nose to match the UK Harrier skins I use, but using this and the really good British accent mod I really love flying the Harrier as an RAF jet.

I'd absolutely hate to loose her.

shout out to lowlevelRAF who's skin i'm using in this picture his work is tremendous. We have a great community who do some tremendous things and are often willing to do stuff for others.

Since the 27 is built off of the 23.... why not a Flogger pack as a module?

If only... look at the Mi-24P for example. I would have loved to pay for my favorite version the Mi-24V or VP bundle.

Still not here...

We now have a Cold war Germany map and an OK amount of cold war era western jets...but no real Russian jets so far (Yeah, I know the upcoming Mig 29A is coming) or even at the very least updated AI 3d assets of Cold war, at least the Mig 23, 27, Su-17/22 series etc. I don't get why ED keeps saying there is no demand for Ru Jets.

It is not complete or the value of that map is not there when there isn't even a cold war AI 3D planes asset. We seem to have a lot of ground assets improved which we barely see or pay attention to.

Hope someday, other developers can fill out the void in cold war with the addition of the Mig 23 or 27 and Su-25. As for the other US blue-force, would love to see the Jaguar at some point a true cold war era plane that fits both France and the British. And even if they do develop, it might take another 4-5 years 🥲

Anyway, it looks very bleak with RAZBAM, all of the modules that I own are on life support literally, looking more like some day the plug might be pulled. That is a lot planes we're going to loose and I happen to be a steam user.

Hope to hear some good news soon...

we still have models in DCS that hail from the Flanker 2.0 days (and thats just how far back I joined...could be even earlier). Id rather have those models updated rather than keep using 30 year old models thats supposed to be "modern".

realistically speaking (and sorry ED for going down this rabbit hole), in about 99/100 engagements, even if you do see them, they're basically like one of those black silhouette ID cards. It's a fleeting glimpse of something quite some distance away. Case in point:

image.jpeg

You'll notice that that's an F-16... but can you tell what model? it's load? what livery it's got on it?

Seriously, unless you're using a pod, you're not gonna see much detail. And if you're in something like a Phantom, you won't be using one. More modern jets with tools like the Sniper Pod? Sure. But in the case of most of the aircraft in DCS? Nah.

You just ignored a lot of other situations:

- taxiing around tight carrier deck

- taxiing close to other aircraft at the airbase

- air refueling

- formation flights including close interceptions

and that's just what you normally see from the cockpit but a lot of users use also external views and make videos with even closer detail views.

these two I'll certainly give ya, especially if you're a Red Jet... thought most of the Red jets can't refuel AAR....

this one's being corrected with the recent announcement, but considering all those jets are AI anyway, the AI likes to not do what you want...

But my main thing is when we're fighting these things. Not trying to stay in formation with a Mig23 or Su17.

The Spud Knocker video informed us about DCS's The Battle Simulator (TBS).

The TBS sounded very impressive.

TBS was know by all from near 10 years ago, has nothing new....

@Silver_Dragon It was new information to me, even if TBS has been around for a long time.

When i see the missions the developers create or new full-fidelty modules being released, there is some super-duper proprietary things used. In the end, we have fun shooting down the bad guys.

This was not about some supernatural revelation of TBS, but about unraveling the threads of their dispute.

Unfortunately, we all suffer because of this, basically on a DCS module that few people need, such as the Super Tucano (of course, apart from the group of loyal fans of this plane, but we'll agree on that, a niche within a niche 🙂 and people looking for something new, it would probably be me 😅 ). Training machines are not as popular as combat ones, probably good examples are L-39, C-101 and MB.339 for DCS.

Btw. Total Battle Simulator is nothing new, right. I watched this video, about 80% of these issues were discussed here or on Discord, so it's more of a summary. I admit I haven't heard about A-29 being moved to TBS.

I hope that the matter will be clarified someday because I was really looking forward to the MiG-23.

The old TBS webpage phase out many years ago. About TBS products, had some videos talking about them....
