@Wags @NineLine @BIGNEWY Saw these few videos released by the USAF and thought they would be beneficial to the project.  They are legit and sanctioned by the USAF at the end of the video.  Great reference footage for how the HMDS needs to look, flight suit, and actually gives you guys some great POV perspective for what your VR pilot needs to look like.  I guess the USAF is relaxing somewhat with video footage in the cockpit.  Still no screens as suspected of instrumentation on the panel, however, a great shot of AA refueling.  Both videos should help with development if you do not already have these.  They are hot off the press. Also might be worth subscribing to this channel for reference material. Looks like all the videos are authorized by all branches and a lot of current footage.

Pretty good carrier footage from this year if needed.

Sorry, but these videos bring nothing new to the table. Stuff that matters is behind the OPSEC. 🙂

In the first video I found it interesting how much the pilot is working the throttle during the low altitude (I assume terrain masking) and it doesn't seem to follow a consistent pattern. Sometimes he's pulling power when initiating a high G turn and other times it's the opposite. I normally leave power set and only  reduce when rolling inverted for down hill and punching it in high G. Maybe he's trying to maintain a set speed?

Another thing noticed was the difficulty spotting the wingman when he was in combat spread (I did have the video set to max at 1080p). It seemed very similar to what I experience in my Pimax Crystal in game.

I 100% agree regarding OPSEC EchoOneOne, we are absolutely on the same page.  This project is proceeding regardless of those concerns.

What I do not want this thread to turn into is another Sierra show about how ED sucks for making the F-35.  We (largely including myself about the HMDS and getting a thread shut down) have strongly conveyed our concerns about OPSEC, accuracy, and their actual ability to gather real data on the F-35.  They heard us loud and clear and know our thoughts and opinions, trust me, this I know.  The best we can do is respect the fact ED is giving this their best run at it and assist by providing solid reference material when it pops up.

My goal with the two videos above is to assist them in modeling the 3D HMDS, pilot suit, O2 mask, ect... with an accurate frame of reference. In my professional opinion, they are not going to be able to get remotely close to the real thing in person without some hefty hookups from a PR perspective.  Below is the closest I have seen the media get to doing a piece on the HMDS.  I know where this was shot and I was surprised to see this was put out there.  This was approved by Lockheed Martin. They actually allowed the chick doing the interview to put the HMDS on and a G-Suit.

Point is, there is enough out there at this point for a visually stunning model, but it will never perform like Jenna Jameson. LOL.

You could always try to get added to SecDef's Signal channel to get more accurate information... 🙂

Make sure you give him some whiskey.

Anyway yeah, we got issues, and needs to be fixed. Anyway though, I mean I'm sure the team has something in mind and will probably be good enough to keep the FBI away from them

Perhaps the landscape was meant? 😉

my guess is ED was given full access by either Lockheed or the airforce to a sim like this. That’s what the FAQ sounds like.

You know some F-35 pilot is going to complain about the inaccuracy of it, but what can you do?

What you can do is work with them to make your module better.

Honestly, the best depiction they'd be able to make for an F-35 would probably be having quite a lot of time to model their F-35 after a simulator. But ED's ties to the East kind makes me second guess they'd even get that opportunity.
