Gabreil Posted July 1 Posted July 1 (edited) What was it supposed to fix? You'd have thought as a priority the CDU going blank when buttons are pressed might have been a priority for this update.. I guess not. I know there are lots of bugs and fixes for all aircraft etc that need to be done - but not fixing basic everyday and widely used functions (which up till recently worked) is i'm afraid a bit short sighted. Perhaps i'm missing something were quality of textures out weighs functionality? Edited July 1 by Gabreil 1
EricJ Posted July 1 Posted July 1 The devs only determine what's important and what's not. I just got the helicopter so I'm not that familiar with the helo (only played it for fourteen minutes so far), but I am somewhat familiar with dev work. It's just a matter of managing a lot of projects and so on that determine what gets fixed and whatnot. Just gotta deal with how they do things. I mean sometimes even I don't agree with what's a priority or not, but overall they may get to it... sometime. 1 Homepage | Discord | Linktree | YouTube 'Nearly everyone felt the need to express their views on all wars to me, starting with mine. Gabreil Posted July 1 Author Posted July 1 I do get it.. But a surely a broken flight insturment required for flying would surely prompt a bit of urgency. Perhaps i'm just plain wrong here
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted July 2 Posted July 2 While I don't necessarily disagree that ED can exhibit priorities that appear strange to us users, in the last 2 patches they fixed 2 things that prevented many people including myself from even taking a look at the module, let alone starting to dive into it: the pedal trim and VRAM issues. Those two should never have made it past the pre-release build and took a year to fix, so here we are 3 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON
Gabreil Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 As stated above, we dont know what drives the dev's to decide what and what is not included, added, fixed etc. I guess we should just be pleased that most updates do contain CH47 changes.. and just have to go with what we're given. I still stand my point that its sometimes difficult to understand why fundamental features that used to work and now dont are further down the list. Hopefully in the next update
Viking 1-1 Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I was about to open a topic and ask how far the Chinook went, after the pretty disappointing release. Haven't flown it since the first week, and it seems, that it is still very buggy, or even worse if my mfd goes black when pushing buttons?! So better don't fly the Chinook at the moment? 1 Before you call everything a "bug": RTFM & try again! Lately it definitely seems that ED modules need at least 2-3 years AFTER early access release to get to a stage that a lot of people consider to be ready for any serious use (more than the odd free flight). The problem, is making something functional, and then breaking it. This isn't the first time they've broken the CDU, and you're not talking about an overly complex device. To horribly break something and not fix it, in a timely manner just screams apathy, in regards to this module. 1
