Kenan Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Wouldn't it be great if we had an AK47 inside the cockpit and after running out of missiles, rockets and cannon, open the doors and shoot all those little people with it? We could also get out and continue fighting old fashioned FPS style. This could come in handy if the chopper is badly damaged, player manages to land somehow and bunch of terrorists are advancing towards him, he digs in, and takes them out one by one untill say, SAR chopper comes to the rescue. If AK47 is too big to carry, then Makarov should do just fine..I don't know..what do you guys think? 3 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . Killin Duck Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Hi, Why not simply play ArmA2 ? Personaly, I'm not the that kind of feature on BS. Edited August 24, 2009 by Killin' Duck
Feuerfalke Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Sounds like you should try Battlefield2 or something like that. L4key Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I'm not sure how seriously you want us to take that suggestion but heck, to contribute further to this bizarre thread: Would it not be better to have a plasma cannon just incase aliens turn up? :smilewink: 1
ZaltysZ Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Wouldn't it be great if we had an AK47 inside the cockpit and after running out of missiles, rockets and cannon, open the doors and shoot all those little people with it? Ask ED for DCS: Mi-8 :) Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
element1108 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 With all due respect and as much as it would be "cool" I don't think this type of thing will be inserted into any of the DCS modules just because it takes the sim in a different direction. As much as I would love to communicate with S&R and have to wait for a S&R bird to come pick me up once i'm down it's not really paramount to the overall combat experience. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it's what I think :).
Shaman Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 It's obvious. RedTiger Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I agree. We should also have to soak the moisture off leaves with a spounge by rapidly tapping the triangle button so we don't die of thirst and quick time events like "push X not to divulge classified information and only say only your name, rank, and serial number while being tortured". 1
joey45 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Wouldn't it be great if we had an AK47 inside the cockpit and after running out of missiles, rockets and cannon, open the doors and shoot all those little people with it Rambo style.... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. bfeld Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Maybe this First Person Shooter thing should then be arcade mode. In simulation mode, on the other hand, DCS: Human could be introduced: if you get wounded by bullets, you have to vet your fully simulated body. There is only little need for modification of the hydraulics engine to simulate your whole blood vessel system. :smartass: 1
Xjikz Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 after running out of missiles, rockets and cannon Why don't you just go back to base to rearm ? Make DCS become a FPS game makes me laught anyway, but would be non-sense. Proud to be a [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :joystick::pilotfly::book:
ZaltysZ Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Rambo style.... Well, some memoirs from Soviet Afgan war mention that second pilots of Mi-8 liked routenely to use AK while sitting in the cockpit :smilewink: Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
wickedpenguin Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I'd love to play DCS: Mujahideen. "RPG ka-boom helicopter!" (Please... someone get that reference...) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Celo63 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 All joking aside - current home user computing power isn't enough to combine fully realistic flight sim dynamics with fully realistic ground based FPS action. Couldn't happen now even if they wanted to. Its bound to happen when computer power increases though. It is inevitable - resistance is futile. :D I can see the appeal in blending flight sim and FPS genres. Would be fun to fly various missions in support of and against real human ground forces and not just attack missions all the time. Variety is good and it would certainly increase the overall immersion factor plus the "pucker" factor. Comes down to what you personally want from your sim experience at the end of the day I guess. I'd like to see the blending of the genres but I hope it doesn't take too long in coming. I don't want to require assistance getting my weak and infirm body into the cockpit and bi-focals to see anything in there. loool

topol-m Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Don`t know about Ak-47s or mortars but i want to drop some nukes from time to time. I think it`s time for some nuclear blast already. I hope nukes get introduced in some future DCS modules :ranting: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Namenlos Ein Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Not sure about old good AK-47. In 1978, the Soviet Union began replacing their AK-47 and AKM rifles with a newer design, the AK-74. AKS-74U (nicknamed 'Ukorot') or new AК-104 suits much better. For ArmA, of course.
vrv Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 I still say that DCS: C-130 would be epic. You want an AK? How about a bunch of retarded AI in the back that don't move. They just hover out the back and start shooting with rifles. Try dogfighting in a C-130...now that is ACM at its finest.
