Blackouts and stutters have become impossible to deal with every 5 seconds.

2.9.20.15384 MT

Nvidia drivers are irrelevant. I rolled back and forth back to two years back. Then experimented with newer. Its all the same.

With latest version of DCS blackouts, freezes, stutters, happen every 5 to 10 seconds. DCS system settings are irrelevant. I tried with DLSS ON/OFF, AA ON, AA OFF. Does  not matter.

Without DLSS and AA OFF, I get 150- 170 FPS, which is great. But stutters and blackouts are so frequent that DCS is unusable. A blackout or stutter coincides perfectly with Nvidia GPU load. It drops to zero, stays there for some seconds, then returns to normal. There is no crash. No crash log file. DCS is not even aware that 3D load is at zero.

Product is now unusable for me. Thats all she wrote. I think I am done.

@DmitriKozlowsky

You could post the DCS.log though. And there is no reason to specify MT as ST is no more. Or do you mean you're running from the bin-mt folder. Better stop doing that and just run from tbe bin folder as the bin-mt will be removed in the future, and they are exactly the same.

You don't have Winwing displays and run DCS as admin by chance? DCS shouldn't be run as admin in any case.

Have you tried to rename the DCS folder under your Saved Games as a quick test? Seems many users have reported corruption lately, which was fixed by this. Various issues though.

When you changed graphics drivers, did you run DDU every time? And did you always install the drivers in Safe Mode?

Cheers!

I cleared by Nvidia shader cache and C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders2.

I do not use DDU or Nvidia APP. Only Nvidia panel.

No difference.

I am afraid, I have to decline to upload dcs.log. Way too much personally identifiable information there. Plus DCS is not crashing. It blacking out. This is a deep problem, and IMHO, has no solution. DCS is not playing well with Nvidia drivers.

Well, that's up to you. And doing it that way won't do you any favours. DDU is for completly wiping the old drivers and any reference to it. Has nothing to do with the Nvidia APP.

Using DDU can only be done in safe mode, and installing the driver should also be done in Safe Mode. That way you make sure Windows doesn't start with a generic driver.

Why won't you temporarily rename the DCS folder under your Saved Games? That's a test that can be done in minutes.

That's fine. You can upload it to the log analyser in the Eagle Dynamics Discord if you're afraid of showing your mods and hardware info.

I never said it was crashing. People have solved stuttering and blackouts by renaming the mentioned folder. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Edit: There seems to be some file corruption/error of a specific file in the Mission Editor folder in the Saved Games folders. Which solves a lot of issues if deleted.

Pretty sure you're alone in that department.

I know you're stubborn and don't take to advice easily. That's your prerogative. Be that as it may, it only hurts yourself in the long run.

Enjoy!

I think all these shader cache  clearances, DDU, safe mode driver installation, is nonsense. It does  not do anything to change the behavior of DCS. The stutters, freezes, blackouts, with GPU load dropping to zero, is unique to DCS. No other application does. Unigine GPU stress should discover any problems. But it runs fine. Cinebench runs fine. Unreal has no problems. Houdini, Maya, Blender, Rhino3D. running in GPU shaded work no issues. Just DCS.

And yet you absolutely refuse to try to rename the Saved Games folders. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm not saying it will work, but it could. Easy test. Worked for others.

You're just proving my point. Why on earth are you posting here if you don't take advice?

And BTW, DDU, Nvidia Inspector and all that jazz, have its benefits and have solved issues in the past.

I do however that DCS can be a pain regarding performance and is very finicky compared to other games. Like it absolutely hates oberclocking for some reason. Diva Combat Simulator...

And guess what: almost everyone running DCS with NVIDIA has ZERO issues with stutters, freezes and blackouts.  So it's very likely an issue on your end.  I think you have hit on the correct solution for you: you're not interested in figuring out why it isn't working so DCS isn't for you.

haha Max. there are definitely some frequent fliers in the forums. people that are constantly having issues. i never understand why they come here for help and then bicker about the suggestions. it just wastes everyone's time. including the OP.

If you have the chance, try DCS on another computer or laptop to discard Hardware issues.

DCS is very demanding on RAM and CPU GPU so a faulty hardware could be not clear on other apps or games.

I did a clean reinstall of DCS. Issue remains. I then changed named of Saved games DCS.Openbeta, so a new one is created. No change. Blackout remain. It does not matter what I do. The problem is DCS. Its DCS! End of discussion.

Hello, since the last update, I've been experiencing stuttering in 2D and VR (with 90 fps in 2D and between 50 and 60 fps in VR), but with slowdowns and stutters, as if the game's scrolling slowed down and suddenly caught up.
In short, if I want to rename the saved game folders, how do I go about it?
Can you tell me how exactly to do it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Have a good flight, everyone.😊

In addition, I have just reinstalled DCS properly.

hello. find the DCS folder within Saved Games folder. it may be called DCS.openbeta. rename it by adding .BAK to it. restart DCS. a new folder will be created. then copy INPUT folder over from backup to new folder.
