Man in one of the videos.. I think it was some Russian news. Can't go thru them again :/

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

I've seen the neighborhood of the crash site and I've seen (>on TV<) very few small houses there. Very scattered. Unless I see the point of impact marked on a map along with the heading just before impact I will consider this as just rumors. Anyone who knows the area in proximity of the airfield could mark the position. I don't know this particular airfield.

A person who was there said the impact site was only about 100m away from buildings.

Those could be the few scattered huts I mentioned. I'll stop there. Without the map it's going nowhere as anyone can freely speculate to his own "view". Including me.

Damn RIP, too many air tragedies lately :(

Agree on that. Considering the advanced technology incorporated in modern aircraft (civil and military), the complex training of pilots and the maintenance of the machines it`s pretty strange the number of accidents happening this year.

Its still too early to really know what happened and as all the film ive seen so far has been block by the trees of the last moments you cant really tell what happened. though I agree the low speed combined with low alt had a major factor.

As far as the pilots they died doing what they loved. I just hope when it is my time I can go doing something I love as well.

Can someone translate radio comms?

http://www.vesti.ru/doc.html?id=313180

Last line:

Controller: "Come on, pull up at 150 carefully.. Is that a recovery? Line.. Recover! Recover! Where are you going? [Jump!] [Jump!] Eject! Eject!"

[] = text that could be heard, but was not on the transscript.

Before that all they said to the pilots were some updates on the wind direction and speed (20 deg. 6-7 m/s)

And the test pilot on the phone said wind couldn't have been the cause (he's probably right, ~8 m/s isn't that dangerous :P)

If anyone has a satelite photo of good quality of the area near Małęczyn (Poland, near Radom) village including the military airbase in far top-left corner I could overlay some info there.

@nscode:

The translation is IMHO insignificant. The last few seconds the only audible voice is the one of "leading officer" (tower) saying: Pull up, pull up, eject!

http://www.tvn24.pl/12690,1617481,,,nagranie-z-wiezy-uwazajcie--ostroznie-katapultujcie-sie,wiadomosc.html

The rest is normal synchronising and informative commands from the "leading officer" at the tower to the crew of Su-27 (wind, altitude, display routine...). Before the loop they were informed that the exit of the loop will involve flying with back wind and they were advised to keep the maneuver precise. Note that the video I linked is not synchronized with the audio recording.

Edit:

Sorry, my response regarding translation was based on the recording presented in Polish news. The recording from viesti is much "more complete"...

Isn't it saying the pilot?

29kph can easily put you well into a stall if your maneuver calls for riding the stall barely a few kph above it ...
