A little update...

Over the weekend the test team did a large online test of Release Candidate (RC) 7 and for the most part things went very well. However, a few bugs were noted that need to be addressed. This is in addition to the remaining single player bugs still needing to be fixed. So while we are getting quite close, there is additional debugging to do. Today or tomorrow we should be testing RC8.

Given the nature of debugging, it is impossible to know exactly when it will be ready; particularly if something gets broken in the process of fixing something else. So, asking for a specific release date is not really possible. Do you really want a rushed release like the original Lock On 1.0?

We understand that some of you are getting quite anxious for this product to be released, but it does not remotely compare to how much myself and the rest of the team want to wrap this up. We just ask that you be patient for a clean, not rushed out the door product when we are in these final stages.

Thanks,

Matt

This is supposed to be a funny comment!!!!!! AKA A JOKE

Going back to "Cold War" tactics, I'm sure somewhere there is / are compromising video's or pictures we could try and bribe ED's team with, an illicit bottle of vodka or something similar lol........

This was being written as Wags was posting his e-mail so delete if you think it's needed

"Hey Matt! I fixed that LOD issue with the SU-25T in rainy weather!"

"Great!! Let's test it tonight!"

Testing follows...

"That fix you made screwed up the LOD's on three other aircraft and there's graphical artifacts now in sunny weather"

"Crap!"

The next day.....

"Hey Matt! Figured out the problem and that's all fixed now!:

"Great! Let's test it tonight!"

Testing Follows....

"Uhm, the netcode is completely borked now"

The next day....

"Hey Matt! We fixed the netcode and everything should be good to go!"

"Ok, we'll test it before I say Great! again"

Testing Follows....

"Good, the netcode works! Great!"

"Hey Matt? Is the editor broken for you too now?

"AAAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!"

The next day....

"Hey Matt? We can't even get the game to launch now and uhm, we dunno what's causing it."

"Let me phrase this carefully - do NOT make me shoot you! What was the last thing you did before it quit working?"

"We put insect eye textures on the windshield of the Mi-24 Hind and....."

That is excellent update. Yes once a bug fix. something else will pop up. I am sure it will be rooted out and get it nearly perfect software, it is nearly impossible to have 100% bug free software. keep up with good work testers, GG, Cougar, Polecat and few others that I may missed. :)

I only wish ubisoft and the guys that were responsible for silent hunter 5 could read the above few posts. What an incomplete bugged out mess that was. So ignore any nagging for a release and just release when u guys are happy with it. I'm sure people here can find things to occupy their time.

Well, i'm going blue holding my breath waiting in excitement; but I'd rather it was as bug-free as possible rather than here 1 week earlier.

Keeping myself distracted trying to think up all the new mission scenarios we can now make. Trouble is the more I think of, the more I can't wait for FC2...

Thx Wags for the heads-up!

That's exactly what we needed... a little bit of fresh info on the progress. So that we know for sure that things are progressing, and you are not stuck with something serious, but rather fixing smaller bugs. Keep up the good work, we'll be waiting eagerly!
