I slept only 3 hours last night, so its like almost 48h practicaly without any sleep and some weird things popup into anyones mind in these conditions. For some reason Im having TOP GUN flash backs and realized a few things. First of all for all of you guys who never watched it or dont remenber (what planet do you live?!) heres a short resumé of the film: http://www.patricksaviation.com/videos/cpasley/4538/ So, having these flahshbacks got me thinking (theres still some juice left in my brain before I black out). Somehow maverick is regarded as best pilot ever, perhapes second only to Luke skywalker. Many of us no lifes would like to be nick-named maverick on the forums (only reason not, because there would be a few million mavericks by now), BUT... HE WAS A FRIGGIN LOOSER Just bear on me with this: -Maverick failed to score a single victory in his graduation. OK, only exception being in the final engagement but thats only because Ice served (and survived) as missile bait for 6 bandits during the whole furball. -but gotta grant him this: They called hard deck only when maverick proceeded for the kill on Jester, after both of them had low fly bys of several hills. how convenient for Jester...what a lamer loser (too) -Maverick almost got booted out for being reprimanded after that tower fly by, but got out as repayment for gratifying a civilian instructor. what a jerk. -Maverick totaled his plane and got his RIO morted, talk about the cherry on top of the cake...strike 2 and 3, and they still let him out! Ice man was much better than him, almost as good as chuck Norris! Why? His F-14 fires the gun automaticaly after being hit on one engine. Then his crippled engine comes back online after the other is hit without damage. Luck favours the prepared mind! :) So I say bohoo mav! Edited December 17, 2009 by Pilotasso .

Airforce with a fully loaded f-16, after that he bombed all the airplanes on the ground, landed his f-16 on the enemy airfield and recured his dad. the poor Iranians only had kfirs and for some weird reason they show up on the rwd as mig-23 ! mikoyan Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Top gun realistic? Why on earth do you not use your phenix missiles or your aim7 to make things easier. Maverik slamming the trottles of the f14b was very realistic too considering that you could blow the engines, but who cares right? Also the fire control computer and those im9 took a bit to much to lock jah? The mig-28s were also very realistic. Almost forgot did you guys noticed that they were flying on very turbulent air, on all the in kocpit shoots they look like the are riding a horse.
