Boberro Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 But then poor EtherealN would perform a sex change and everything else. C'mon, he's a nice guy, we don't need to do that to him, do we? :music_whistling: Someone will be sacrificed for matter :D Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... 104th_Crunch Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Just a blurb from me because I feel obligated to say the following in every thread that suggests what the next DCS module should be. It would be a shame if the next module for DCS is anything but a fighter. We have a hi-fi Helo and Attack aircraft coming. A fighter or stirke /fighter is what is needed. Not to mention DCS needs Player vs. Player action. So be happy with the A-10 and let us fighter jocks be happy that we can get a hi-fi aircraft as well please.
GGTharos Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 The frogfoot is as complicated an aircraft to model as any other. They have to use a more modern engine simulation, as well as hydraulics and other things; think of it as a Ka-50 without ABRIS. The Su-25T has classified technology onboard which is not documented (AFAIK) so that's out. Same for Su-25SM, I believe, but perhaps we'll get lucky. 159th_Viper Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 ....So be happy with the A-10 and let us fighter jocks be happy that we can get a hi-fi aircraft as well please. Luke.S Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 DCS: Hornet FTW  It's All Good! DCS: Tomcat It is unclassified so could be made properly and had the Aim-54 which iirc was the longest ranged missile.
GGTharos Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 What about it is unclassified?? Are you assuming that just because its retired? amalahama Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 No please! No other airplane-that-I-want-to-see-in-DCS post again!! Regards!! 2
Luke.S Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 What about it is unclassified?? Are you assuming that just because its retired? Well for a start the top speed. 2.34 mach and (1.20 mach @sea level) ceiling is 56,000ft+ they never dared go over that iirc. http://www.globalaircraft.org/planes/f-14_tomcat.pl
GGTharos Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Great, you have 2-3 pieces of information without context (not to mention the easiest info you could acquire, which has been available for a very long time) out of probably tens of thousands of pieces of information required, including avionics and weapons system mechanization. So, what exactly about it is unclassified? :) Well for a start the top speed. 2.34 mach and (1.20 mach @sea level) ceiling is 56,000ft+ they never dared go over that iirc. http://www.globalaircraft.org/planes/f-14_tomcat.pl 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
element1108 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 No please! No other airplane-that-I-want-to-see-in-DCS post again!! Regards!! I agree...right now I just want F.C 2.0 and DCS A-10C sim info ;)...that's as far ahead as I can see. DCS X is a LONG way off yet.
Zorrin Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I'm sure if you ring ol' Ahmadinejad he'll let you have some info. Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Speed Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 So, what exactly about it is unclassified? :) Lots! But I hate F-14s so I'd be pissed if it was the next module after A-10. Krippz Posted March 9, 2010 Author Posted March 9, 2010 The Su-25T, Su-25KM and Su-25UBP are no-goes for obvious reasons. If there ever is a "DCS Frogfoot" the sim will more than likely model the Su-25/Su-25K. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
Silver_Dragon Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 there is more chance of a DCS: F-4 or a DCS Phamtom II: A-6 Intruder Tomcat or a Tornado. Sincerely fighters and bombers out of service for more than 15 years have their manuals more available than any other plane. Sincerely fighters and bombers out of service for more than 15 years have their manuals more available than any other plane. I'd pay $200 for DCS: F-4 Over Vietnam if it had DCS-quality aircraft realism coupled with realistic trees and realistic radio and FAC operations. My god, that would be a SWEET game. Zorrin Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Would you really spend $200? C'mon. Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
Maximus_G Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I'd love flying the Su-25A. There is something nostalgic about it when you compare it to the A-10 and Su-25T. In LockOn I feel its the only aircraft that it feels like you are flying. You don't have a hud, you have to keep looking at the gauges, you have no advanced avionics display information. Its just gauges and what you can see. Its all pilot skill, you lack all of the extra features of the other aircraft. I share this opinion, classic planes are better to play for a bunch of reasons.
ericinexile Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I share this opinion, classic planes are better to play for a bunch of reasons. Right-O! I really want the Hind and MiG-23. Of course I'm looking forward to everything in DCS's future. I still fantasize about the flying machines of the cold war. They can be easily modeled with little or no guessing on the avionics. Smokin' Hole My DCS wish list: Su25, Su30, Mi24, AH1, F/A-18C, Afghanistan ...and frankly, the flight sim world should stop at 1995.
