I love how GGTharos keeps swooping in to deliver swift kicks of reality to the dreams of others :P

I know, its as if he doesn't want us to get our hopes up for that Typhoon or F22 module any time soon?? :pilotfly:

Ok I am in goog moods today !

I have seen the most extrodinary proposals for Next DCS module until now.

Even thow I insist im my wish for F-16C or AH-64D, I want to mix the sup further !

Does anyone elese has proposed the below very interesting machine ?

Mirage 2000?

Sure, but good luck getting a decent manual for -any- French military aircraft.

I would love the mirage for sure. Cockpit looks cozy.

replace DCS: falcon with DCS: Apache..

re-iterating pilot-copilot gunner multiplayer...

So much I would like a DCS Apache to (or another heli), with current ground environment (i. e. trees not solid, basic infantry animation) it would be a no go.

I could be wrong but a engine originaly made for fast movers isn`t that suitable for helicopters if you want to have fixed wings on that map to. If you want to put reasonable ground environment, trees! (Iґm curious how Speed Tree will work out in Sow: BoB), infantry and so on in a helicopter dedicated sim you have to use a much more smaller map.

And, like Vega said, finding a human gunner/pilot for sharing cockpit would be hard. Would the AI be good enough to take the free seat? Itґs another story in a simulation then in a arcade like game, I guess.

This kind of terrain detail would be nice for Heli sim, just need a decent graphics engine

That engine + DCS module= *droooool*

I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!"

You dont. You only render at that detail at low altitude like you guys did in DCSWH.

At heights that still enable you to see distances far in advance of anything that current hardware is able to do at this detail? Not likely.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

And what system is supposed to be able to render at this detail out to 80000 metres? :)

Why on earth would you want to render out to 80km in a heli sim?

Even if the terrain was completely flat (which it isnt), for a heli flying at 50m, the horizon is at 41km. Throw in atmospherics and that is reduced further.

Lets be honest, the terrain map for BS is far too big. Sure it provides variety, but it should be cut up into much smaller areas for each mission and it would be nice if it provided higher levels of detail as shown in my previous link.

Of course it is, it's French... it's not like they're into winning wars or anything.

Plus, it's probably full of croissant crumbs and obscure artwork.

Mirage 2000 is a highly agile A/C. It can manage approx 11 g max loads. As an Interceptor is simply unbitable. Belive me, it eats F16s for brakefast ... I know that ! :smilewink:

Almost any plane that merges in BFM with M2000, commits a suicide. Delta Wing planes rules in that area.

And being a delta wing, bleeds airspeed like there's no tomorrow. You know, the fight isn't over after the first turn. Or maybe it is ;)

It's all up to the pilot imo... Mirage is a great plane.. If nothing, it'll be fun to fly small and agile plane, not flying bed like Flanker/Eagle ;)

There's nothing friendly about "friendly fire"

----------------------------------------------------------------

A cigarette is a pinch of tobacco, wrapped in paper, fire at one end, fool at the other.

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side,

and it holds the universe together.

After (M)onday and (T)uesday even the week says WTF !!

Rambler91, your Video simply proves, the horror that this plane spreads in Aegean Sea for almost 15 years. Beside that, the importance of M2000 is prety clear to Hellinic Air Force (HAF), since HAF owns both M2000 & F16C 52+ :smilewink:

Sobek, Bleeding airspeed is not a problem with M2000 when it BFMs with F16. F16 simply can't follow the turn rate of M2000, or it can't pull it out from its Six !

The truth must be always spoken! As I said before ... It eats F16 for breakfast !

I'm going to ask for something I'll never receive, especially from a series named Digital Combat Simulator!

The NASA X-29!

What a beauty! I don't actually spend a lot of time shooting sh1t in DCS:BS. It's fun for a while, and certainly challenging, but shooters aren't really my thing. The most amazing thing to me is the flight model. ED has accomplished unmatched realism in both the flight profile and systems integration. I spend hours and hours "exploring" the aircraft.

Soooooo, I think it would be nice to actually have a study sim dedicated to a R&D aircraft, especially one as radical as the X-29. The missions could be set up like the actual historical research missions, exploring the flight envelope and gathering data, with tangible objectives and goals.

Anyway, wishful thinking on my part!

Well, if youtube videos are unmistakable truth to you, i can just as well prove you the opposite :D

As was stated, it all depends on the situation and more important, on the pilot.

This is an inherent problem with delta wings, they are tail-heavy and, while being able to deliver enormous instantaneous turn rates, also bleed airspeed like crazy. It's not about instantaneous turn rates in BFM, it's about sustained turn rates, and you can't keep up turning without speed. Speed is life. Also, once you've got a bandit on your six, it's basically impossible to shake him and the fight is over (unless he drives a massively inferior airframe or makes a huge mistake)

Ok, I don't understand what kind of superiority are you trying to prove ?

Please, indicate to me from the above videos I have personally send, witch one includes dog fighting with Turks.

1st Video: International Aeronaftical Exibition Archangel in Greece.

2nd Video: HAF InterSquadron Training

3d Video: Just a Squadron Spot. Everyone has !

I already mentioned that HAF owns both types of A/C and intensive training is committed in every day fashion between HAF pilots. This is the source of my Videos! And this is the source of reality between both A/C's. Where did I said that Youtube is a source of truth ?

There are plenty of such videos on Youtube some real other fake ! This is a Aegean virtual war for 25 years ! Virtual Casualties exist in both sides, even real one by accident I can asure you !

Since you have answerd back to me, I think your video is at least clumsy. Next time think twice before you interfair with sensitive National matters between others !

So the F-16 pilot wasn't trained in energy fighting then? ;)

And what national matters? He's clearly showing an M2000 getting owned by an F-16. Forget the rest.
