True, it would be strange fitting anything else into the sim if it is indeed a US fighter. I can't imagine fitting an F-5 into the DCS universe. :P

All Tornados are not created equal. But with that said, the E model is better nowadays for all but low level interdictor strike missions, which isn't exactly a sought after role these days. Part of the reason we're retiring them as soon Afghan is done with.

I've always sort of liked them. They're ugly, they're smelly, they're old and decrepit, but there's a certain charm there... kind of like the F-4.

Probably because the Germans don't do enough with them to blow the dust off. :music_whistling:

 

As far as the GR4s go, with the mighty Typhoon and (of they get the thing working) F-35 we don't need them anymore.

I can't (for obvious reasons) comment on the next DCS product, but my general experience is that the Warthog is superb for pretty much anything and everything I've ever thrown at it.

Those crazy Americans prolly soon wil slap on it a few Minigunpods and rockets too make it a big weaponsplatform like they did with the C130 ;)

No, really, the next must be a F/A-18 Hornet C/(D?) and maybe E/(F?), i know the E is modern but the C version of the A10C is modern too...And anyways DCS its have a military version first, the civil coming after and USAF/Navy want to training pilot for modern aircraft ^^

Carrier OP can be perfect, and ED make a new boat for the next patch, well, maybe... :p

But Hornet and carrier can't be doing without realistic ground crew, high alpha and vapor on wings like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo3owHXK9r8 in very humid day an aircraft don't need to turn at 9g (7g maximum for Hornet) for obtain vapor, and the wings of the Hornet are so flexible...
